Following the death of their grandfather, twin brothers, Carson and Brennan O'Leary, find themselves at odds with each other and who they are. Carson, an addict, decides the only way to find something of meaning is to travel to Ireland to discover their ancestral roots. Brennan refuses to go as he has a baby on the way, burying himself in strange festishes and hiding who he's become.
After their grandmother is put into a memory care facility, family secrets begin to unravel and Brennan realizes Carson is in grave danger traveling to Ireland alone. He takes off after his brother, only to find their actions have unleashed a generations old curse against them and their loved ones.

How the fuq did you both get droogs, s.ex fetish, creepy crawlies, ancient ancestry, gross, curses and everything else crammed into one hell of a story!?
you nailed all the goods while having a completely solid storyline. 🤯🤯🤯
I received this arc from the authors. Here is my review: Another great read from DZ and Juliet! I've read a few books by DZ and 1 by Juliet and neither one of them ever disappoints! This one has drugs, sex, and some really trippy scenes. This one isn't normally something I would go for but as I said before, you can't go wrong with either author. And both wrote 1 book? Sold! if you're into super trippy creepy as fuck books, grab this one as soon as it's available. You won't be disappointed!
Beneath the Bog by DZ Hollow and Juliet Rose is another win from the dynamic duo. This story is emotional, haunting, and at times, a little gross in the best way 🤣. The Irish folklore woven throughout adds a rich, eerie atmosphere that perfectly complements the very real family struggles at the heart of the story. Themes of self-understanding, grief, and personal growth are delivered in such a gentle but perfect way.
wow what a a fucking story. I loved how fucked up the things Carson saw. the fact that he went into the bog and turned into a chrysalis. but that the baby is now being called out by them in Ireland. I hope there is another book

Beneath the Bog by Juliet Rose & DZ Hollow proves—once again—that when these two collaborate, something unholy and excellent is about to crawl out of the swamp.
This book is soggy with grief, soaked in Irish folklore, and marinated in generational trauma. It’s emotional, unsettling, and occasionally gross in that oh no why am I smiling way. The atmosphere is thick enough to chew, and the bog itself feels like it has opinions.
Twin brothers are already cracked open by loss, so obviously Carson decides to dig into his ancestral roots. Because that always goes well. From there, reality starts slipping, secrets start rotting to the surface, and the story gets delightfully weird. Dark? Yes. Trippy? Extremely.
There’s a weirdly tender, devastating story about grief, self-acceptance, and finding the courage to face what your family tried to bury. The ending comes out swinging and lands exactly where it should—unexpected, emotional, and a little feral itself. Come for the folklore and creatures. Stay for the emotional damage. Leave with bog water in your veins.
Beneath the Bog by DZ Hollow and Juliet Rose 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 The amazing duo team has written a killer story!! This book is so unique and creative! It’s full of supernatural horror, suspense, creepiness and even brought out lots of emotions.
Twin brothers Carson and Brennan are very different siblings. Carson decides he is going to go to Ireland to find information on his family’s roots, while Brennan stays at home to take care of his pregnant wife. Carson’s trip quickly takes a weird turn as soon as he arrives in Ireland. Shortly after, Brennan travels to Ireland as well when he can’t get a hold of his brother. He feels something has happened to Carson, and he’s correct! This story is very complex with layers of intricate details and webs. 🐛🕸️ I would never have guessed the direction this story would go. I didn’t want to put it down!!
I was lucky to get an arc of this excellent book!! It’s beautiful written with a deep and dark storyline.
**It’s out now and I highly recommend getting this book!! You don’t want to miss this one!**
What a fantastic book about Irish folklore! It was fun to read the different perspectives of the two brothers. There were some extreme horror and some real gross-out moments, but this book was so much more than that. I love a good evil fae story, and I loved all the trippy descent into madness moments of this. This book is all about roots, generational curses, and love for family. I've read several books by both authors and this is one of their best ones yet.
These 2 have done it again! I love it when they come together for a collaboration because you always get something totally unique, often mind bending and always thought provoking. This book had a lot of things going on and is chock full of generational trauma and secrets. Parts were dark and parts were trippy, but ultimately the underlying message was beautiful and important.
Not sure what the heck I just read but wow. This book managed to weird me out and probably scar me for life in a few ways but make me keep turning the pages because the characters intrigued me and so do the arcing storyline. This was the last book that I thought could make me cry but the way it pulled together in the end really got me.
What a trip! I am still mulling over what I just read, and I suspect I will be for a while. I’ve read each author separately, and together it’s a perfect marriage of splatterpunk gross out, lore and world building, and well researched myth. The faces I made while reading this! Very impressive genre blending work by the two of them. Well done!
Brennan and Carson are twin brothers who have suffered a loss. Carson decides to return to the land his grandparents were born. But odd things start happening a change is coming. Unexpected ending. A horror tale of transformation, creatures and courage.
