Every afternoon, he orders a black coffee and sits at a table in the back.
Each day is filled with the same people coming in and out of the shop to get their drinks and go about their days. That is, until her. Suddenly, a whirlwind of a woman infiltrates his afternoon coffee. Told mostly through dialogue, the desire for human connection is explored in the most unlikely of places. We experience the need to feel seen, heard, loved, and cherished, and the relationships that foster these feelings.
I was completely pulled into this story and ended up finishing it in one day. Every time I thought I’d stop, I had to keep going because I needed to know what would happen next.
The descriptions were so vivid it felt like a movie was playing in my head. The scenes, emotions, and tension all came alive in a way that made it easy to get lost in the story.
I’m already invested in these characters and desperately want to know what happens next for them. I truly hope there’s more to come — I’ll absolutely be reading whatever this author writes next.
It was a fantastic read that explores the relationship between men and women. I absolutely loved it because I enjoy stories that dive into these dynamics. The characters and their interactions were truly captivating for me. I hope Bailey writes something similar in the future at a different level, as I'm eagerly looking forward to more of her work!
I loved this book. The witty banter and sharp dialogue hooked me right away, and the vivid descriptions made everything feel real without bogging things down. Every time I thought “just one more chapter,” the book took that personally.
