Excellent read with well-written characters that had me hooked from the beginning. I like a coming-of-age format, and this was an enjoyable example. I felt there was still another layer that could have been added somehow to give the story an even greater depth and bring it up to the likes of Stephen King's "It" or "The Body" and Dan Simmon's "The Summer Of Night", but it's not far off. The story flowed beautifully, the central characters were likeable and the genuine talent that this author has shone through. There was a real sense of time and place, and I heartily recommend.
Could not put this down! Love the characters, very relatable as young teens. Partly sci-if, partly mystery, overall coming of age story with good friends and loving families.
Fairly engaging characters and held my interest throughout but there just wasn't quite enough to the story, I wanted more creepy. The conflict seemed too easily resolved, too.
This was a good read. It is very highly influenced by Stephen King, and maybe some Neil Gaiman. My only suggestion would be a little more detail and conflict in the ending. Really good story though!
