This book has been anxiously awaited and it did not disappoint. The Bregden Chronicles each challenge me to examine my beliefs and biases in a beautiful non confrontational way. It’s a breath of fresh air in our current world to be able to grow and change from words of love and hope. Read them all and allow the words to wash over your soul. You will be a better person for it. I know that I am!
The story continues and each life Is a journey of love, courage and hope. What is going on today in 2026 so relates to the historical timeline in this book. The courage to move forward in life when our country feels like it is coming apart. The necessity of hope when physical danger is always present, represented by the violence of the KKK, the violence and uncaring actions of the NYC police during labor protests or the greedy mill owners cutting back on expenses to build a safe dam in order to power the factories that wipes out and destroys the towns of people who work there. All this happening in post civil war years under the umbrella of a nationwide economic depression and destruction of any infrastructure to help the liberated black folk survive in their new world. The women are the ones that have the strength to hold life together and heal the wounds with love.
Well, I’ve loved all the Brendan Chronicles books so far, and this one didn’t disappoint. Reading the last story two years ago, I thought I might forget some of the characters. Boy, was I wrong. As soon as the started reading, I felt like I was living back on the Cromwell Plantation. I’ve grown to love all these characters, and if life wasn’t so tough back then, I almost wish I could have been friends with all these wonderful people! Thanks for writing this wonderful series, Ginny Dye, I’ve learned so much about history and about how to be a better version of myself. Each story uncovers more wisdom on how to be caring, understanding, helpful, courageous, resilient, kind, and resourceful. Keep writing and making the world a better place!
I'm still trying to recover from reading Alice in Wonderland. The #22 book was hard, at times, to put down just like the other 21! However, it felt as tho it was needed to "fill in" to help with the length of the book. Maybe someone can help explain the reason for that much of an addition. If it was to clarify a point, i missed it. In none of the previous books have I found Any lacking of excitement for the next up coming event in the book! This one I did. However, can hardly wait until #23 is available.
It did not take very long to be right back with Carrie and the entire family. It seemed like I had only been away for a short time. I am so grateful to Ginny for battling through her time with Long Vivid. I was afraid that this book was never going to be. It is hard to believe we have gone through 22 books already. I still want to know "what happens next". Thank you for sharing Ginny.
Thank you for adding the history often left out of schools and how real people handled the major changes in their life. We can all be a string of hope in our homes, extended family and friends, and our community. Thank you for continuing your research to bring so much light and truth for all who read and share with others.
When I finally got this book I didn't want to start reading! I was afraid after such a long time it wouldn't be the same as the ones I had loved so much! I was wrong! The first words I was back in my beloved books! Ginny you are a superior writer!!!! I hope you live and write for a l o n g time! Can't wait to continue the Brendan series
I wished it was not so long for this book. Enjoyed all the historical references but it was difficult to remember all the characters's histories. The characters become like family as I read about lives. I feel their joy and their pain.
I!I've this series. I went back to the first one and started reading them again. I will probably do so again and again as long as my eyes hold out. I recommend these books. They are so entertaining . can't wait til the next one.
I love the continuing story! I can hardly wait until the next book is released! You bring your readers right into the story, like you are living the story with them every step of the way.
