"পাকসেনাদের হাতে ধরা পড়েছে বিধবা তরুণী ভাগীরথী সাহা। সে নাকি লুকিয়ে ডাবল এজেন্টের কাজ করছিল, পাকসেনাদের খবর পাচার করছিল মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদের। ধরার পর তাকে নিয়ে এল পিরোজপুর সামরিক ক্যাম্পে। পাকসেনারা এবার ভাগীরথীর উপর তাদের হিংস্রতার আয়োজন করল।
ভিড়ে ভর্তি হাটবারে তাকে শহরের রাস্তায় এনে দাঁড় করানো হল জনবহুল চৌমাথায়। সেখানে প্রকাশ্যে তার কাপড় খুলে ফেলল কয়েকজন খান সেনা। তারপর দু'গাছি দড়ি তার দু'পায়ে বেধে একটি জীপে বেধে জ্যান্ত শহরের রাস্তায় টেনে বেড়াল ওরা মহা উৎসবে। ঘন্টাখানেক রাজপথ পরিক্রমার পর আবার যখন ফিরে এল সেই চৌমাথায় তখনও তার দেহে প্রাণের স্পন্দন রয়েছে। এবার তারা তার দুটি পা দু'টি জীপের সাথে বেঁধে নিল এবং জীপ দুটিকে চালিয়ে দিল বিপরীত দিকে। ভাগীরথী দু'ভাগ হয়ে গেল। সেই দু'ভাগ দু'জীপে আবার শহর পরিক্রমা শেষ করে জল্লাদ খানরা আবার ফিরে এল সেই চৌমাথায় এবং এখানেই ফেলে রেখে গেল সেই বিকৃত মাংসগুলো। একদিন-দুদিন করে মাংসগুলো ঐ রাস্তার সাথেই একাকার হয়ে গেল একসময়। বাংলা মায়ের ভাগীরথী আবার এমনিভাবে মিশে গেল বাংলার ধুলিকণার সাথে।" - দৈনিক আজাদ পত্রিকা।

মুক্তিযুদ্ধের ইতিহাস সেভাবে মনে রাখেনি এই ভাগীরথী সাহাকে।
হতদরিদ্র বাঙালি বাড়ির বিধবা ভাগীরথী সাহা কোনো এলিট ক্লাসের কাগুজে চরিত্র ছিলেন না। তিনি একজন মা, একজন গুপ্তচর, একজন শহীদ!

ভাগ হয়নি ভাগীরথী বইটি একেবারে গোগ্ৰাসে শেষ করে ফেলেছি 😄বইটি পড়ে অনেক অজানা তথ্য জানতে পারলাম মুক্তিযুদ্ধ নিয়ে 🙏 ভবিষ্যতে এরকম আরো বইয়ের অপেক্ষায় থাকবো😍
