It's always interesting to me to read old books about food products that are pretty much taken for granted today. The author was a doctor, so she expounds on the nutritive value of various foods, as well as their origins. Much is in the context of the Columbian Exposition, which is a fascinating topic to me. I would seriously have to take my time machine back and visit for a bit.
