Rate this book
Mark Pattison is a former NFL wide receiver, Emmy Award–winning storyteller, and author whose work explores resilience, leadership, and the process of rebuilding identity through life’s most demanding transitions. His career spans professional sports, business, media, and high-altitude mountaineering, offering a rare perspective on performance and purpose.

I thought when I started this book it would be all about climbing mountains. But this book is about more than just conquering mountains. It's about conquering the challenges that life throws your way. This book is about not giving up. Mark shows us the path that he followed on his journey of heartbreak-in sports, marriage, business. This book is about refocusing your energy on hard-to-reach goals and not giving into what life throws at you. Mark is an example of not giving up or giving in to the hard things that happen in life, in everyone's life.

This book is an inspiration to all who read it!

As a former NFL Player who climbed the Seven Summits and who had been running Sports Illustrated, I have also had many valleys. This book isn't all about the achievements but about how I climbed out of my place each time I got knocked off my horse.

Hope you all enjoy the ride starting with Mt EVEREST.

An Inspiring and Humble Read

I read Mark’s book over the weekend and really enjoyed it. What stood out most was how humble and relatable the writing felt, despite the incredible level of success and experience behind it. That’s not an easy balance to achieve. Congratulations again to Mark on another fantastic accomplishment. He has reached his eighth summit with this book!
