It's the last few minutes of Millennium Eve, December 31 1999. But whilst the rest of the world is celebrating, Outcast Angel Jesse and a ragtag bunch of genetically enhanced trainees are desperately trying to save a Russian politician from an unknown assassin.
The crowd is counting down the last few seconds till the new millennium -- and then suddenly everything changes. What just happened, will it happen again and is there anything that Jesse and his team can do to prevent the assassination?

About the author
Michael Carney
2 books6 followersMichael Carney has been writing professionally since he was 17, which was a long time ago in a galaxy not so far away.
He began his writing career straight from high school, writing radio advertisements for a bright and shiny new radio station in the glorious South Island of New Zealand (only a few hours drive from that wonderful scenery made famous by Sir Peter Jackson in ‘Lord of the Rings’ and, latterly, ‘The Hobbit’).
In the decades since, Michael has carved out a career in advertising and marketing, as a copywriter, Media Director, Strategic Planning Director and Online Marketing specialist. These days he writes and administers online training courses covering a range of Social Media Marketing and eCommerce topics at http://NetmarketingCourses.com.
In addition to writing a towering inferno of newsletters, reports and presentations Michael is the author of “Trade Me Success Secrets” (first and second editions), the top-selling book about NZ’s online auction site Trade Me.
In his spare time, Michael has also written (and mostly directed) a number of well-received stage plays over the years, some aimed at children and young adults, others produced for Christian audiences.
Michael has been planning out the exploits of the OUTCAST ANGELS for many years.

Thanks to Michael Carney for giving me this book to review.
In the last few minutes of 1999 most people are celebrating but Outcast Angel Jesse and a group of genetically enhanced trainee humans, are trying to save a Russian politician from an assassin. But as the last seconds of the millennium count down time goes back a few minutes, and happens again and again. Will Jesse and his team be able to find what is happening and prevent the assassin?
Then Again is an OK short story about angels and humans with special talents. As there was lots of characters and not much time, I found it hard to connect to them. Also I did not like that the story was not linier, as it kept on jumping around in time and it threw me out of what was happening. It was an interesting story and I would recommend to fans of paranormal/superhero type stories.

Then Again (Realms of Our Own) By Michael Carney
It is the last few minutes of the millennium December 31, 1999 and the world is celebrating. Outcast Jesse and genetically enhanced engineers are trying to save a Russian politician from assassination. The crowd is counting down the last minutes, then it happens again, and again. What went wrong? Will they be able to stop the assassination? Jesse is determined to fin out what went wrong and carry out her task.
A fast paced short story. I liked Jesse, she is strong will and wants to "get the job done". There is some tense action and thrills. We are briefly introduced to some of the other characters in this series. This is a unique story; it is a Science Fiction anthology with ten different Authors participating. Each Author writes about one character. I liked the originality and the plot. The cover is eye catching. Overall I enjoyed this story and would like to read more by Michael Carney.
