Kerri writes sports romance with a dash of sweet, a healthy dose of love, a generous sprinkling of spice and always a perfectly crafted HEA. Although she’s becoming a published author later in life, she’s been writing and thinking up stories since she was twelve years old. Being able to write full time is a dream come true! She’s a Colorado native who now lives in Houston, Texas. She’s been a lifelong hockey fan of the Colorado Avalanche, (of course) and a hockey mom in a former life. She’s an avid reader of spicy romance novels and a die-hard coffee addict. Espresso is life! Her hobbies include walking her furry four-legged best friend, Cheyenne, watching as much hockey as possible, chasing her grandkids around the house and reading as much smut as possible while overindulging in coffee and snacks. She’s a retired accountant and is much happier writing than working in corporate America. She lives close to three of her adult children, which she loves because they are awesome humans.
Colliding Hearts is book 2 in Colorado Wolves hockey series. I did not read the first one before I jumped into this one, and though we meet the couple from book 1, I didnt feel lost or that I needed book 1 to follow along the story. Liam and Madison’s story was the brother’s best friend trope, but with a twist I enjoyed that we don’t see enough. Where the brother is all for his sister and best friend dating. He likes his best friend so much he knows he’d treat his sister good if they ever dated. I liked the depth this added to the story, but because it took away the angst of the bro’s best friend, I was expecting something else angsty to take its place, but sadly no. Madison was hard on Liam for not acting like a grown up, and he really needed to man the heck up and let his mom and dad enjoy their retirement. But I am over 50 with 4 kids so I may be using my own thoughts on that. Overall I enjoyed…just a tad more angst would push it to a 4*. Thanks to BookSirens for this ARC, my thoughts are my own.
This is the second book in the Colorado Wolves Hockey series. I can't say enough about this author. This story is the perfect romance told. We the reader have been given the gift of brother's best-friend, secret crush, forbidden romance and second chances and hunky hockey players. How Liam made my heart swoon. A slow burn, watching Madison (our heroine) maneuver her friends relationship and feeling her heart cave into something new. The author smoothly juggles these characters into place, a nice touch with with the gift of a dog for protection. Loved this fun read and looking forward to what comes next.
Colliding Hearts is book 2 in the Colorado Wolves hockey series. This can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read book 1 and was able to follow along easily and there was limited mention of the couple from book 1.
This is a slow burn romance and book with the pace picking up as it nears the end.
There were a few things that kept this book from being a 4 star for me: no one seemed to care about the FMCs breakup and her dating another friend, they jumped from nothing to full relationship and some of the communication between the characters didn’t feel realistic. But this is my opinion and others may not feel the same.
Overall, this was a good read and will be enjoyed by those who love a brother’s best friend trope with some hockey thrown in. I received an advanced copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.

I liked this book. I loved the plot and really enjoyed the back story and yearning. I do think it was written more as a YA book than a book for more mature readers. The conversation felt youthful, too youthful for late twenty somethings.
Overall, good read!
