Is it me you're looking for? is an emotional and engaging contemporary romance that follows a second- chance romance with elements of forgiveness, healing and genuine happiness that true love shares.

The story follows Prachi who is a rj but her real passion lies in singing and Sahil who is the co- founder of Fame Magazine in Toronto and loves music. Four years has gone by however both of them cannot forget the love they once had for each other.

Will fate re-unite them again? Or will the past wreck the present? Theirs is a story of love, yearning and letting go of uncertainties to finally invite the happiness they truly deserve.

A lovestory that shows us though circumstances, time and distance may sometimes creates barrier but when the love so pure and dedicated is already present, it doesn't slows or stops. Prachi's and Sahil's story rings true as their hearts knew them better than themselves.

A beautiful story that will make you fall in head over heels with love and yearning. Both the protagonists had their own struggles yet they knew to support and understand each other even before words were spoken.

If you are looking for a perfectly balanced and emotionally charged romance novel then I highly recommend you read this book.

'Is It Me You’re Looking For?' by Purba Chakraborty is a tender, contemporary romance that explores love, longing, and the fragile hope of beginning again. The novel gently explores how people move through life carrying memories of past relationships, the kind that linger in quiet corners of the heart, while still hoping to find something real and lasting. The story does not depend on dramatic twists or over-the-top moments to keep the reader engaged. Instead, it leans into honest emotions and small, meaningful interactions. Because of that, the love story feels deeply authentic and rooted in the messy, vulnerable, and very human experiences that many of us have faced in our lives.

At its core, the story revolves around Prachi, an RJ and singer, and Sahil, the co-founder of Fame Magazine, two lovelorn individuals. Life is great, work is fine but nothing can make their hearts feel alive, except them. Despite living miles away, one in Mumbai and the other in Canada, Prachi and Sahil wish nothing but a last sight of each other, that one flickering hope of love that refuses to defuse with time. The protagonists were written with layered personalities and they are flawed, reflective, and deeply human. The world knows, they haven't moved on. In fact, even they know, they haven't moved on. Until things change and a bleak hope resurfaces their relationship, this time maybe for the last time, to rewrite their story with a great ending or to break and become history.
The supporting characters also play an important role in shaping the emotional landscape of the story. Friends, family members, and past relationships subtly influence the protagonists’ decisions, adding warmth and context to the narrative without overshadowing the central romance.

Purba Chakraborty’s writing style possesses a gentle yet evocative voice that makes every emotion land with authenticity. The storytelling flows effortlessly, and the emotional transitions feel natural rather than forced. Through simple but vivid moments, she captures the quiet beauty of second chances in love. The romance does not feel cinematic instead, it feels lived, delicate, and hopeful. I found the story remarkably “alive,” as if the characters were people I could easily encounter in everyday life.

This book is for readers who enjoy heartfelt romance that leans more toward emotional depth than core trope-based narrative. For anyone who believes in healing, rediscovery, and the possibility of love after disappointment will likely find comfort in its pages.
'Is It Me You're Looking For? ' is a story about timing, vulnerability, and the courage of waiting and hoping, that love might shine in their favour. In the end, the novel leaves me with a quiet reminder: sometimes the right person arrives not when life is perfect, but when we finally learn how to open our hearts again.

In Purba Chakraborty’s Is It Me You’re Looking For?, the beauty lies in the "quiet spaces" between the notes of a love once interrupted. This second-chance romance is a masterclass in emotional pacing, trading explosive drama for a tender, slow-burn exploration of healing and "unfinished sentences." Through the evocative journey of Prachi and Sahil, Chakraborty uses music as a hauntingly beautiful bridge between past bruises and present possibilities. It is an atmospheric, "after-midnight" kind of read introspective, deeply lyrical, and ultimately hopeful. If you believe that true love doesn’t have an expiration date but simply waits for the right harmony to return, this heart-healing story will resonate long after the final page.

One of my favourite aspects of this book was its cozy touch of second chance romance and emotional depth. Prachi's character as an RJ truly shone throughout the book. While, Sahil's Aura as a co-founder of Fame Magazine added a lot more depth to the overall character graph. Their chemistry was really sparking and even after a long separation, destiny couldn't keep them away. The longing to meet each other, restless nights and constant thoughts about each other truly made their bond special.

I love reading romance novels, and when I came across this book, I was instantly intrigued.

𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:
I like the book cover. The illustration, colour palette, and the title perfectly complement the story and the overall vibe of the book.

The story revolves around Prachi, an aspiring singer who rejects her love, Sahil, and chooses her boyfriend Arvind instead. After Sahil moves overseas, her engagement falls apart, leaving her alone and struggling through life. Destiny eventually brings them back together. Will Sahil and Prachi reunite? Grab your copy to find out.

𝐎𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧:
✓ I found the plot quite simple, but that’s exactly its beauty. It feels realistic, and the characters are easy to connect with.
✓ I loved Sahil and Prachi’s chemistry. The way Sahil cares for her and the way she loves him made the reading experience truly heartwarming.
✓ The book subtly highlights the darker side of showbiz, while also showing how one shouldn’t fear it but face it with strength, resilience, and confidence, just like Prachi.
✓ The storytelling is genuinely good and portrays how love should be a source of strength, not weakness.
✓ I also adored Surbhi’s character, it’s one of the most beautiful portrayals I’ve come across.
✓ This is a perfect pick for readers who enjoy soft, realistic romances. It reminded me of films like Aashiqui 2, Raanjhanaa, and Saiyaara. The story ends on a satisfying note, giving closure to the characters. Highly recommended.

Purba Chakraborty's Is It Me You're Looking For? is a heartwarming story of love, longing and belonging that travels through the veins of the readers and remains unforgettable for lifetime.

Separated by the harshness of destiny, Prachi and Sahil, have lived enough of their lives in their own worlds. Again comes the spring, when their worlds collide once more and gets rigged with the sweetness of music, emotions and suddenly the unasserted feelings of the past gets amended by the warmth of togetherness.
The quest of love never ends, even if it seems to be ended, it gets recreated all of a sudden.

Purba Chakraborty, apart from her poetic experiences, has mastered the art of prose. Her idea of the story is remarkable, characterization deserves applause, narrative is fluid and language is easily readable.

Overall I can conclude that this novel is a significant achievement and it can be considered as an asset of contemporary romance.
In a poem, Chakraborty once wrote -

and in this novel, she has portrayed it most. artistically.
