As a transplant to Rhode Island, Don Bosquet has been a fantastic teacher for me and my family to help us understand so much about this interesting place. His comics should be required reading for transplants to Rhode Island. So much of the state's culture is revealed in his humourous cartoons that could seriously take decades for one to have revealed to them through in-person encounters.
Some of the cartoons are very dated though. This could leave readers who weren't familiar with what was going on in Rhody during the years approaching the original publication dates of the images (1980-2005) a bit confused or they may just not get the jokes. But, if that happens to you, know that his cartoons originally appeared daily in the Providence [Rhode Island] newspaper, The Journal-Bulletin, and at the time of individual cartoon's being originally published, they were very timely. So, if you enjoy his style, there are plenty more collections for you to peruse and surely some to entertain you.
