I got to read this as an ARC. My rating needs to be done in categories for this book. Plot/ Story: Honestly, it was a wonderful concept. The characters were interesting, and it fits well in the dark romance category. It is a mafia romance that talks of loyalty, obsession, and desire. Execution: When the story concept was good, the execution at times needed work. There were moments when I got so confused due to some repetitive scenes, such as Sophia's drawings. I will touch on this more in other categories. POV and Structure: The story switches from 1st person to 3rd person throughout the story. It was honestly distracting for me and took away from the story. At times, the writing was confusing and felt like there were plot holes or concepts that were not concrete. The biggest for me was Daniella. It felt like the game of 'will they, won't they'. I'm not sure if it was a typo, but there were a few moments when statements just seemed like one moment they were one way, then shortly after, it was something completely different. By this, I mean the fate of Cassian. Information Gaps: I know this was something I specifically felt at the beginning of the book. I had to check to see if this was indeed book one, and I wasn't somehow reading something completely different. I felt lost and like knowledge was coming from elsewhere.
Verdict: It had a good concept, and it wasn't a terrible read. Though I did have to put it down at the beginning because I was having issues engaging with it. I thought stepping away for a little bit would help me. It did help me a little to re-engage and get more involved in the story. Though I did find myself questioning things throughout the whole story. From POV changes throughout to gaps in information, structure, and possible plot holes, I can not rate this five stars. If I had to give it a concrete rating, it would be 3.5 (ranking up to 4 due to the rating system here)
I would be lying if I said I wasn't interested in book two, though. I want to see what happens next.

I had no context of this book going in other than it was a dark mafia romance. I'll start by saying, while this book was absolutely incredible, the plot leans heavily into the mafia breaking up a human trafficking organization with a dash of romance.
This is an intense, suspenseful page-turner of a read. The beginning perfectly sets you up with multiple directions the story could go and the story that follows is thoroughly thought out and well written. So much is going on and it all fits together into one impossible to put down book.
Can we just talk about chapter 45 for a second? Because damn. I felt all. Of. That.🔥🔥🔥
Recommended to readers who enjoy a suspenseful, thrilling dark mafia plot with a dash of romance.
Thank you to author, Sienna Reign, for the ARC of this book. All thoughts and feelings are my own.
Bound is a dark, intense mafia romance that explores loyalty, control, and forbidden desire within a dangerous criminal world. Sienna Reign crafts a tense atmosphere where power, duty, and attraction collide, drawing readers into Bella and Mateo’s complicated connection. Their relationship evolves from protection to something far more consuming, set against betrayals and looming violence. Gritty, emotional, and addictive, this story is perfect for readers who enjoy dark romance with high stakes and morally complex characters.
This book offers a quick and engaging read, centered around a mafia-themed plot. It thoughtfully addresses heavy topics like human trafficking and recovery, so it's important to be mindful of the trigger warnings. Overall, it’s a solid story, and I particularly enjoyed witnessing the FMC embrace her destiny and become the queen she was meant to be.
