Before I even start,.....
I cannot believe this author is ONLY 17!!!
Impossible!
She has to be one o f those rare 60 year old women who 'look' 17,
because there is NO way such a young person could write
such a beautiful Godly series.
But....AHA ...since she is 17
then
she does not have a leg to stand on!!!
She needs to have her next novel completed before the new year!!
So there!
After all, I am 80...
so naps and lollygagging are 'my' speed.
I have lived to now be in the:
It's all about 'ME", selfies, etc.
Oh and victim hood
I am a victim of slow writing authors
Sigh!
Can you feel my pain?
But for a 17 year old,
she can get up at four....before the sun,
and work all day and night writing.
I don't have all day
waiting for her next extraordinarily amazing novel!
I need her next masterpiece yesterday!!
I cried and had to pray in several spots, it so touched my spirit!
I also loved that she focused on the sins of:
I have to do this all by myself!
The sin of pride, and not trusting God.
But then
God does chase down His wayward 'sheep'!
And the hard lesson is learned,
the person forgiven and their faith stronger than ever!
( surely she didn't have ME in mind when she wrote that
so why was there tears in my eyes?
Well, I have to find 'something' to nit pick
after all, it is my joy in life to go after 17 year old young woman...
I have an 18 year old grandson
so I have lots of experience with the terrible teens!!
The ending was fine...
But I wanted more!!
I wanted them to not JUST court
but marry,
and see how they dealt with being royals
and their children etc. etc.
Other than that I cannot think of anything else
Oh wait, of course
Silly me
HURR!!! HURRY !!!
and write the next novel!!

Officially my favorite series ever!!! I’m sad that it’s over but it left me feeling encouraged and inspired to grow stronger in my faith. Can’t wait for more books by this amazing author!

A perfect ending to this duology!

Just like book 1, this duology has wondrous prose, voice and plot, but it does contain some unnecessary romantic tension that is, in my opinion, unneeded and overdone for the YA target audience. There is also some demonic possession, and actual demons that battle against the characters. The demonic forces are handled in an allegory way, but still I would rather not read about literal demons whispering in children’s ears trying to get them to do wrong. (That is an actual scene.)
The thought for it was there, but the execution . . .hm, not so much. Our YA readers need to have their minds focused on “whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report.” And I’m not saying that authors should shy away from themes like battles with darkness, but these themes should be handled gingerly, and I found that they were not handled so in this series.
If it didn’t have this content, I would most likely rate it 4.5 stars, but it DOES contain this content— thus I must rate it a 2, and not recommend it.

Lovely story
Lovely story and especially the way the author integrated their faith and the Maker/Creator, even the Dark Ones. Although their place in the story - the way they were presented altered some from turning into ash at the Makers words vs actual fighting with blades. I found that a bit confusing but still a story well done.
