What can go 𝐏𝕌cк𝕚ⓝᎶ wrong? ⭐️ 3.5

Lyla, moves into her new step fathers house, she’s yet to meet her three step brothers. Being at med school and her job means she doesn’t have much free time. Whilst at her job where the patrons and staff wear masks, she meets a man who she connects with. At home her step brother sees her for the first time and lets just say they feel attachment straight away. She finds out he is Case Nicoletti, a star hockey player and her obsession. It’s not all love and roses though, as Lyla has a secret and a stalker. Will their relationship grow or falter?

𝑀𝑒 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒽𝒾𝓂 𝒶𝓇𝑒𝓃'𝓉 𝒶𝓁𝓁𝑜𝓌𝑒𝒹 𝓉𝑜 𝒷𝑒 𝓉𝑜𝑔𝑒𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓇 𝓈𝑜, 𝓌𝒽𝓎 𝓂𝒶𝓀𝑒 𝒾𝓉 𝓌𝑜𝓇𝓈𝑒 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓃 𝒾𝓉 𝒶𝓁𝓇𝑒𝒶𝒹𝓎 𝒾𝓈.

There are elements and referrals to ice hockey, a lot of spice with some plot and m^rder to bring it all together. It wasn’t one of my favourites from Ashlynn, and for me it seemed a very banal simplistic read 🤷🏻‍♀️ It is a quick read and if you enjoy smut, with a little angst this is for you.

Firstly I love the fact that this was a stand-alone so no cliff-hanger. I also loved the cameo appearance of Hayes Valentine.

I'm not a big fan of hockey romances and this wasn't heavy on the hockey so that was a bonus.

Lyla is having some issues and decides to move home except home is now with her mum and new step-dad. They are never home anyway so she pretty much should have the place to herself as her triplet set brothers live in the dorms of there university. Lyla is obsessed with the local hockey team especially the captain Case. Captain Case that just so happens to be one of her new brother.

They 2 know that anything happening between them is forbidden but the heart wants what the heart wants. There is a fair bit packed into the 170 pages.

I will admit that I was confused to how / why she never met the brothers before her encounter with Case in the house the first day and by the end of the book i'm still pretty sure that she hasn't met the other 2 brothers not it could be that this was done off page but it was a little confusing to me.

Plot: 3/5 • Spice: 4.5/5 ————> Lyla is a med student who moonlights as an escort. She moves into her mother and step father’s home to basically hide from her stalker. Here is where she meets one of her new triplet step-brothers. Case is the captain of his hockey team and everyone woman’s dream.

Speaks fly instantly and they both want each other. however, turns out they’ve already had each other. Lyla and Caesar
both wore masks that last time they were together at the Velvet Veil. But they don’t find that out until later.

This is a super fast paced, insta-love, sports interest, with a dash of stalker novella. It’s a little “eye rolling” near the end when they’re chopping up bodies, because wtf is that? but other than that it was okay for what it was. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This was a great shorter read and I really enjoyed myself. The pacing was a little too fast for me, but it didn’t stop me from having a good time. I loved the chemistry between Lyla and Chase.

ARC Review – Puck Me Dirty by Ashlynn

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Puck Me Dirty is dark, forbidden, and completely addictive in the best way. Ashlynn delivers a college hockey romance that pushes boundaries, raises the stakes, and refuses to play it safe, and I loved every second of it.

Case Nicoletti is the golden boy of college hockey, but beneath that polished exterior is a man willing to cross every line for the woman he loves. Lyla has harbored feelings for Case for years, and when they’re suddenly living under the same roof as stepsiblings, the tension is immediate, intense, and impossible to ignore. The forbidden aspect is done so well it’s angsty, emotional, and loaded with chemistry.

What truly sets this book apart is how high the stakes become. The stalker subplot adds a constant sense of danger that keeps the pages turning, and when everything finally explodes, it does so in a way that’s shocking and unforgettable.

⚠️ Minor spoiler note: One scene near the climax absolutely stole the show for me when Case comes home and realizes something is horribly wrong. The roles Lyla and Case play in what follows completely flip expectations and reveal just how far they’re willing to go for each other. Dark, brutal, and oddly empowering, it cemented this book as a standout.

This story isn’t just about forbidden love it’s about obsession, protection, and choosing each other no matter the cost. If you love dark romance, morally gray characters, dangerous secrets, and hockey men who fall hard, Puck Me Dirty needs to be on your TBR.

🔥 Forbidden romance
🔥 High stakes & suspense
🔥 Dark, twisted, and unputdownable

Some rules really aren’t meant to be followed, and this book proves it.

So starting my review off as usual: Read the TW/CW before diving in. This book is nowhere near as dark as some of the other books Miss Ma'am has written but that's no reason to slack on protecting your mental & emotional space. Now onto the review! We'll start with a question! Does being obsessed with fictional hockey players make me a fictional puck bunny cause......🤣🤣. For real though! Ash got me over here all kinds of turned on & around for these men & LAWD! To be clear, I am always hooked to the women Ash writes cause her FMC's are always PUCKING QUEENS! I was hooked from the dedication on, as always it was a struggle to put down once I dove in. I am well aware that Ash's books & writing style are not for everyone, that will never ever deter me from hyping her or her books up though. Case & Lyla had me from the word go, the heat, the spice, the emotion, & everything in between. This was a quick read & worth every second of it. Will for sure be added to my ever growing list of books to reread when the mood strikes. It is definitely fitting that this review is happening as we are literally getting snowed in & temps are beyond freezing. I went back just to reread a bit today just to warm up🤣🤣. Are there some serious topics? Yes. Does the plot PLOT? OF COURSE! Is the spice off the charts? PUCK YES! I may not be much of a sports fan in real life but I'm definitely becoming one when it comes to some of the books I read. Ash as always has kept me hooked & wanting more. I will for sure be reading the next book in this series of standalones & can't wait to see what other (if any) cameo appearances happen. 10/10 def recommend!

Puck Me Dirty was a good, funny, spicy read that had an interesting plot! Case and Lyla had great banter and spice, and the tension and forbidden pull between them pulls you in 🩵 I loved the twists and secrets in the plot, they added extra layers that explode when revealed, causing a spiral!

Lyla is such a cute character, and I loved her inner thoughts 🤭 Her pull to Case is super strong, and she couldn’t fight it if she tried, because she is helpless to that man’s charm! 🩵 She has a little (big) secret she’s been keeping from everyone, and with the struggle she’s dealing with related to that, she is going through it! When the plot turns and secrets are revealed, everything changes between Lyla and Case, but even so she was determined to be with him and make things right 🩵

Case is one spicy boy, and it’s not hard to see why Lyla was struggling not to give into him 🥵 His character has a lot of depth between his hockey, brothers, and dad, and I loved how many layers he had to him! Balancing all of that, he still has so much care and devotion for Lyla and it is swoon worthy how much he worries for and thinks of her 🩵 When he didn’t react in the best of ways, he made an effort to make it up to Lyla and apologize, and that said a lot about him 🩵 He is one sweet, dark, and dirty package 🔥

I enjoyed this read, and the plot twists at the end were crazy, with one that was completely unexpected!! The story progresses and wraps up nicely, and I love the ending Lyla and Case got 🩵 I am excited to find out more about Crew in the next book!

Puck Me Dirty is a steamy, addictive opener to The Dirty Knights Trilogy and honestly gives forbidden hockey romance fans exactly what they’re looking for. Ashlynn Author jumps straight into the taboo tension between stepsiblings Case and Lyla, with college hockey adding that high-stakes, competitive edge. The push-and-pull is intense, angsty, and messy in the best way, and it definitely had me glued to the pages way later than planned.

The spice? High. Like 4+ chili peppers high 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. The scenes are bold, unapologetic, and don’t fade to black. Case is your broody, possessive hockey star with secrets, and Lyla’s long-time crush finally becoming real adds real emotional weight. I loved how the tension was built slowly before everything exploded — the stolen moments and risky encounters were chef’s kiss.

That said, this was fast, filthy, and ridiculously entertaining, and it sets up the interconnected trilogy perfectly. I’m already itching to find out what the other triplet brothers are hiding. If you’re into stepbrother tropes, edgy sports romance, and aren’t afraid of crossed lines, this one will absolutely hit the spot.

Puck Me Dirty by Ashlynn is the first standalone book in the interconnected series: The Dirty Knights Trilogy. If you’re familiar with Ashlynn’s books, you’re probably thinking “A standalone book by Ashlynn? What about her signature Cliffy?” No cliffhangers here, but trust me it works! Puck Me Dirty follows the FMC Lyla and the MMC Case. There’s so much packed into this book, Forbidden Love, Obsession, Betrayal, Hockey Sticks, and so much more!

I loved this book! The plot was great, especially the plot twist! Which I didn’t expect at all! Ashlynn’s writing never disappoints me. Ashlynn did a great job with this being a standalone. I feel like sometimes standalone books feel rushed to make sure everything fits in one book, but this one flows really well and doesn’t feel rushed at all! I also really loved the characters, and I strongly believe that every girl needs a Case Nicoletti in their life!

I 100% recommend Puck Me Dirty by Ashlynn to anyone who wants a hockey romance with a little bit of a darker tone to it! This is also a perfect book for when you want a great plot but don’t want to commit to a long series!

I originally read this when it first came out under Ashlynn’s pen name, Valentina. At the time, this was my review:

"3.5⭐️
Loved the characters and the storyline!
I was this close to throwing my phone at the ending—I just didn’t want it to stop.
If you enjoy a good dose of spice, this book definitely won’t disappoint.

That said, I did feel the plot could’ve been explored a bit more deeply. There wasn’t much build-up; they meet, and suddenly he’s in love. I would’ve loved a slower burn, where we could really watch their connection grow and evolve.

Can’t wait for the second one to see what happens next!"

■ With all the alterations, my rating has gone up to 3.75⭐️. I always devour Ashlynn’s books, and this one was no different, however, something about this story didn’t captivate me as much as her others.

Even setting aside the fact that we never really get an explanation for how Case found and saved her during the kidnapping (which I can overlook since this is a novella), the later twist left me with a lot of unanswered questions. Because of that, the reveal didn’t feel as satisfying as Ashlynn’s twists usually do.

Overall, if you’re looking for a quick read with solid spice, I have no doubt this book will satisfy. 🌶️📖

As a fan of dark romance and forbidden themes, and Ashlynns books I was quite shocked that I didn't enjoy this as much as I thought I would.

What I liked:
The first half of the book is high-tension and fast-paced. Case Nicoletti is the ultimate "Golden Boy" with a dark, possessive side that comes out behind closed doors, and the step-sibling dynamic added a great layer of forbidden heat. The "Dirty Knights" triplet dynamic is also very intriguing and sets a great foundation for the rest of the series

Why it was a 3.5-star read:
While I was hooked for the first 50–60%, the story lost some momentum for me in the second half. I didn't connect with the character development or the plot direction as much as I did in the beginning.

However, if you are a reader who loves a "touch her and die" hero, heavy spice, and a hero who is absolutely obsessed with his heroine, you will likely really enjoy this!

Overall, it’s a solid start to the Dirty Knights trilogy, and I’m still curious to see what happens with the other brothers.

I laughed so hard and loud when Lyla and Case first met. This is because Lyla's crush just became her new stepbrother. She inserted her foot in her mouth. Case and Lyla having a conversation and as Case walks towards her and Lyla says, "Want More" and Case taunts saying, "More What". This is where Lyla inserts foot in mouth. She replies with "Whatever you want to give me". To be honest, I probably would have said the same thing.

The heat between Case and Lyla was so hot that they could turn the ice rink into a swimming pool! Lyla is not a weak FMC but a strong one. Her secret identic with her job just added another layer of spiciness to the story.

This book is an instant love! I started reading it and finished it all in one day. Amazing. Forget about "taboo" as this book is "tab yes". You don't want to miss this book. I am looking forward to reading Case's brothers' stories. Totally and utterly obsessed with this book!

She's done it again folks! I lost track of how many books I've read by Ashlynn, but she nails it every single time! This is different from her other books, but you can bet your ass it has has all of her usual suspects; drama, tension between the MCs, and a shit ton of spice! And trust me, the spice was spicing! 🥵 Now if you've read any of her books before you know that another trademark is cliffhangers, but this ending didn't feel like her usual cliffy style, it felt like a really nice way to end..and dare I say an HEA?! Lyla and Case were a match even when they didn't realize it! Case is a beast on the ice and Lyla is a force in the medical world. You have to read this to get it, but check triggers please! It does have some blood and gore (is it reeeeaaaally an Ashlynn book without it?! 😅🤣). I say it all the time at the end of reviews, but really, thank you @ashlynn for the privilage of being part of your ARC team!

Puck Me Dirty dives headfirst into the world of forbidden desire, delivering a steamy and suspenseful college hockey romance. Ashlynn crafts a story where the chemistry between Case and Lyla is undeniable, even though their stepsibling dynamic adds a layer of complexity and risk.

The forbidden aspect is definitely a central theme, and the author doesn't shy away from exploring the tension and moral dilemmas that arise. Case, the golden boy hockey star, finds himself battling his attraction to Lyla, while Lyla grapples with her long-standing crush now that they're living under the same roof. The added element of a stalker threat creates high stakes and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Be prepared for blurred lines, exploding secrets, and a choice that will change everything. This standalone is part of an interconnected series, leaving you wanting to devour the stories of the other triplet brothers.

Lyla and Case turn out to be step siblings and not talk much when Lyla moves into her stepfather's house. She has a secret life and he happens to fall into that life without knowing who each other are, at home their chemistry is off the charts and Lyla has been head over heels for this guy for a long time.

Will their worlds collide? Lyla, aside from her secret life she also has a stalker that she doesn't want anyone to find out about, she wants to deal with him/her on her own, but somehow Case involves himself because he wants to protect her.

What will come of this?

The spice was high level and very entertaining.

This book was okay, I've read another book by this author that really had my interest picked and this is why I decided to read this one, although I want to continue this series to find out the other two brothers' stories.

First of all, Ashlynn really knows how to write all the spice!

Case is a big shot hockey player, and Lyla is an aspiring doctor who also happens to love hockey! She moves in with her mother and her new husband after she escapes a dangerous situation while living in the dorms. Imagine her surprise when she comes downstairs, to find her favorite hockey player cooking breakfast in the kitchen... The Case Nicoletti, who just so happens to be her new step brother.

Puck Me Dirty is a book of full of steamy forbidden attraction, that will leave you questioning your morals, while not wanting to put it down! I cannot wait to continue this trilogy and find out what else happens with Case, Lyla, and the rest of The Dirty Knights!

Taboo Step-Sibling Novella

Lyla is a medical student by day and a call girl by night. She moves in with her mother and new stepfather to feel safe from a known stalker. She meets her new stepbrother Case who happens to be a hockey god and her ultimate fantasy. An instant attraction develops between them but they both know they can’t afford to act on it not realizing they already have. When real feelings emerge suspicion reveals secrets and hidden truths. This was attention grabbing from the start but the shortness of the story left a few plot points behind and unexpected surprises that seemed to rush towards the ending. On the lighter side of a dark romance with some unhinged moments by the characters. This is a quick novella with some cringeworthy scenes.

Puck Me Dirty by Ashlynn was such a fun, fast, and addictive read. The pacing is quick, the chemistry hits immediately, and the energy never drops. I flew through this one because every chapter kept things moving and gave just enough tension to make me want more. It has that perfect blend of attitude, emotion, and intensity that makes it hard to put down.

The characters are bold, messy, and easy to get invested in, and their dynamic kept me entertained the entire time. It’s confident in what it’s delivering and doesn’t hold back, which made the whole reading experience even better. If you’re in the mood for a hockey romance that’s high-energy, engaging, and totally bingeable, this one absolutely delivers

It was a quick and spicy intro to Case as he and a female entertainer enjoy their evening. As he leaves, we get to know he is one triplet with Cruz and Crew being the other two brothers. Lyla has had a crush on him as he is the captain of the hockey team. What she didn’t know, was that he was her new stepbrother. They both end up at the house without knowing the other person. She has just moved in and hadn’t met them yet. He was aroused but his dad said she was off limits. Anyway, with no one else home, they really met each other that night (spicy!). We find out that Lyla has a secret job and a stalker ex. The story isn’t dark. Its more of a hockey romance but I was drawn in by the stalker and the taboo aspect between Case and Lyla.

What a drama filled ride this turned out to be. With all the forbidden tension and chemistry. Lyla juggling med school, work at the masked club, and suddenly moving in with her new stepfamily already had a lot going on, and then finding out the guy she connected with is actually Case, her stepbrother and a star hockey player she’s been obsessing over, just made everything feel extra charged. I loved their instant spark and all the sneaky, we really shouldn’t be doing this moments, plus the spice was definitely there without taking away from the story. The stalker situation and Lyla’s secrets added a nice layer of suspense that kept things interesting the whole way through. Overall it’s a steamy, angsty, entertaining romance that hit all the right notes for me and left me really satisfied with how it all came together.

The fire burning between Case and Lyla was so fierce. Lyla isn’t some feeble FMC—she’s a powerhouse, a force to be reckoned with. Her secret identity only adds a volcanic layer of intrigue and passion to an already explosive story.

This book doesn’t just capture your heart; it TAKES it by storm! I picked it up, I was hooked, and I devoured every single word, finishing it in one breathless day. It’s pure, unfiltered magic. You simply cannot afford to miss out on this rollercoaster of desire and danger.

And now I’m counting down the days until I get my hands on Case’s brothers’ stories—my heart’s already racing! I’m utterly, completely obsessed with this book—body, mind, and soul!

This story delivers a great take on what happens when you meet your idol in your own home. I came for the plot and stayed for the smut—and so much more. The book truly has it all: sizzling tension between the hero and heroine, plenty of intrigue, a touch of suspense, and a generous dose of spice that ties everything together into the perfect recipe. It takes some time for Case and Lyla to reach their HEA, but the journey there is so good and completely worth it. I can’t wait to read the next book, especially since it promises to be even more taboo. Thank you, Ashlynn—for now on, I will never look at a hockey stick the same way again. 😄

Ready for book 2 please! I really enjoyed the first book in Ashlynn’s new series.

It was not as dark as her other books however there are still dark and forbidden elements.

Lyla the med student with a secret job and Case the hockey team captain who is Lyla’s favourite player. Watching their world collide and seeing how they interact is great,

Ashlynn’s character development is always great and they way she is already world building ready for the next book is fantastic.

If you like spice then his book is also for you. There is lots of it and it is hot, hot, hot!

I love me a quick and dirty read….the amount of twists and turns on their emotional rollercoaster is insane to me….how you fit all that into 150 pages and have it not feel like too much? I loved getting to see Valentine again, I squealed for his fan boy moment, that was absolutely adorable. This was probably one of the lighter books of Ashlynn I’ve ever read and I adored it. It had the protective mmc, the feisty FMC, a little bloody mayhem here, a little crazy stalker there & SOOO MUCH FANTASTIC Spice in such a short story! I’m in love! I can’t wait for the stories of the other triplets…it’s gonna be fantastic 🤩

Ashlynn is one of my "if she writes it, I'm gonna read it" authors. Puck Me Dirty is a hockey romance, where the MMC is the FMC's new stebrother. But she's in trouble and he doesn't know about it until its too late. There is amazing banter, tension, and spice in this book. Lyla is a brat, but she knows who she is and what she wants. Case is the hockey player she's been obsessed with for years; she follows his career and knows all his stats. He's also a triplet but we'll get his brothers later. Lyla and Case's relationship is a mess from the get go and I can't wait to see what Ashlynn does with the other 2 brothers.
