It has been six month since the apocalypse. Six months of the Conrad family struggling to just stay alive long enough to come together. But things in this dystopian world are now getting worse, not better. Winter is coming, food is disappearing. Technology is dead. People are desperate. There is no one to turn to for help. The law of the jungle is in full effect, kill or be killed.
Sara Thompson never anticipated being caught in the middle of a war. Surviving the end of the world was hard enough. But now, the slightest error and people she cares about will end up dead. She has already lost so much. No more. No matter what, no more.
When the asteroid hit, Tim Devo knew things would get bad. But never this bad. As food and resources disappear, some people are willing to kill to get what they need. A new power is growing. Evil. A man named Bishop and his men are taking what they wants. But they made a mistake when they killed Tim’s family. Some people would call what he must do – Revenge – He calls it Justice.
By the time I reached Book 5, I was really hoping the series would take a new direction. Unfortunately, it felt like the same story we’ve already seen in Books 1–4, just recycled once again. The familiar plot structure, character arcs, and relationship dynamics have become overly predictable, and there were very few surprises left.
This one was disappointing and ultimately my least favorite of the series. I kept reading because I’ve been invested from the beginning, but I finished it wishing the story had evolved in a more meaningful way.
I was so excited when I saw this pop up on my Amazon page. It's been almost a year since it originally was supposed to release but I am so happy now that it is out. It's even better knowing that the author has made it through a serious health scare and is on the mend. I wish for you good health and many more exciting stories.
The Kindle Unlimited is and has been the previous book. I’ve reported and received no response and it hasn’t been fixed. Just a heads up. (The one star is only to hopefully capture the author’s attention, I will delete upon response).
