An unfortunate turn of events leaves Brooklyn without accommodation during the final year of college. All her roommates couple up with their significant other.

Adam Serra-Valle, star player of DTU soccer team and her friend since the first year of college offers his spare room to her.

Though she had been hesitant at first, never wanting to burden anyone, things turn around and being roommates with Adam wasn't bad at all. Especially when they started spending more and more time together.

Between Brooklyn volunteering for charity, her school work and Adam varsity soccer schedule, they didn’t have time to date. They soon realize that they had the perfect schedule for each other and tension raises between them.

Adam proposes a deal, to start seeing each other casually. It’s nothing but purely physical, no strings attached. With no clingy partner to worry about, Brooklyn accepted the offer.

Their new relationship seemed perfect, no one understood them better than each other suddenly, being roommates helped too. Between their hikes, grocery shopping, cooking dinner together and heading out together it became clear they loved each other’s company— beyond everything being too casual.

But Adam would go pro and leave, Brooklyn wasn’t even sure if she could stay in the city. Adam was only meant to be a friend, a good friend and she didn’t ever want to lose one of those.

Still, the passion grew as did her feelings for him and worse, he might even feel the same way— now she’s unsure what to do.

A love that grows from an amazing friendship will always be top tier in my book. There is something that happens when you date your best friend, something special and deeper. Or at least in my opinion. EL Deliza has given her readers just this and more in her latest release of It Happened One Spring, book 4 in her Seasons of Love series. Each book has been amazing and the romance blends perfect with the time of year EL features.

Brooklyn is in a bind, needing a place to stay in her final year of college. When a friend comes through with offering their extra bedroom, she is grateful but also careful. Brooklyn was a joy to watch grow and come into her own. The emotional journey she goes on has captivated me and I am amazed by her inner strength. The friendship between her and our MMC is sweet and innocent. Though it quickly grows into so much more!

Alex is the college’s soccer superstar. When his friend is in need of a place to stay, he offers his extra room, not ready for what his new roommate will bring into his life. As they spend more and more time together, both alone and with their mutual friend group, the friendship slowly becomes more. Alex is beyond sweet to Brooklyn and is strong for her when she needs a pillar to lean on. However, he can be vulnerable and soft when she needs him to be.

What a wonderful parallel EL writes between Brooklyn and Alex and spring. Spring is when things are new, fresh, holding a promise for the future. After the dark and cold of winter, strong roots allow plants and break through the hard ground and start climbing towards the sun. Alex and Brooklyn have nurtured their roots in friendship and from this comes a wonderful romance. A wonderful story to read, especially as spring is right out the corner for us.

As always, review any author notes before reading.

This story is a beautifully crafted journey of two people-Adam and Brooklyn who discover love in the most unexpected, serendipitous way. What begins as a simple connection slowly grows into something deep, tender and profoundly moving. Their relationship feels real because it’s built on friendship, trust and the quiet moments that reveal who they truly are beneath the surface.
Adam is the kind of character who loves with his whole heart-steady, patient and endlessly devoted. His growth both personally and professionally, makes him incredibly easy to root for. Brooklyn, on the other hand is strong yet vulnerable, carrying her past with grace while fighting for the future she deserves. Watching her learn to accept love, stability and support is one of the most rewarding parts of the story.

What makes their romance unforgettable is how effortlessly they fit together. Their banter, their comfort, their shared dreams-it all feels organic, like two souls who were always meant to find each other. Even when life pulls them in different directions, their bond remains the anchor that keeps them grounded. The supporting cast adds warmth and humour, making the world feel full and alive. Adam’s family brings a sense of belonging that Brooklyn has longed for and their friend group adds joy, chaos and unwavering loyalty.
This book isn’t just a romance-it’s a celebration of growth, healing and choosing love even when it scares you. It’s about finding someone who sees you, supports you and stands by you through every chapter of life.
It felt like soft, emotional and deeply satisfying love story that stays with you long after the final page💚

There’s something undeniably charming about a romance that sneaks up on you, and It Happened One Spring does exactly that. What begins with the promise of something casual slowly unfolds into a story about vulnerability, timing, and the terrifying realization that feelings rarely follow the rules we set for them.

The dynamic between the characters is where this book really shines. Their banter feels effortless, their chemistry builds gradually, and the emotional tension simmers beneath every interaction. I especially loved how the story explores that delicate space between “this is nothing serious” and “oh no, this suddenly means everything.”

The spring setting mirrors the emotional arc beautifully — everything feels fresh, hopeful, and just a little unpredictable. There’s softness here, but also emotional depth. Watching the characters navigate their guarded hearts and slowly lower their defenses was incredibly satisfying.

This is the kind of romance that feels warm, cozy, and quietly addictive — the type you start reading for the cute moments but stay for the emotional payoff.

A lovely installment in the series and a perfect read for anyone who enjoys romance that balances sweetness with genuine emotional growth.

This is my new favorite romance author! Romance done right!
Starts off with our fmc Brooklyn in need of a living arrangement after hers fell through and her friend Adam offers for her to move in with him in a spare room. She hesitates at first but moves in. The banter is strong in this one and the spice is perfection! After a trip with their tight knit friend group Adam and Brooklyn strike up a deal. The deal leaves them both wanting more and slowly falling for each other.
It was a joy to read a romance book with true friends to lovers. Watching them go from friends to having a relationship based on honesty, good open communication, respect and true love was beautiful. I have decided that Adam may just be the best man in romance books. Not cocky, well a little but at the right times, protective, loving and treats Brooklyn like the goddess she is.
Brooklyn has some amazing growth and truly comes into her own with the help of the one and only Adam. There are some deep emotional moments for the characters that help the readers understand them more but can’t say because well spoilers.
The author’s words flow like magic across the page and has you not wanting the story to end. You’ll fall in love with the characters and feel every emotion alongside them.
Highly recommend this book!

It Happened One Spring is a beautifully written college sports romance that leans into quiet moments, emotional tension, and the kind of slow burn that feels earned.
Brooklyn and Adam’s relationship develops so naturally, starting with a genuine friendship and deepening through forced proximity and mutual pining. Their no strings attached arrangement adds just the right amount of conflict, especially as feelings grow and future plans begin to threaten what they are building together.
I loved how domestic and intimate this story felt. From shared routines to everyday moments, their connection unfolded in a way that felt realistic and heartfelt. The dual POV was a standout, allowing readers to experience both sides of the longing, fear, and love.
This book is perfect for readers who enjoy friends to lovers romance, college settings, and emotional slow burns with cozy vibes and strong payoff.

Thank you for this Arc copy.
It was exactly what I needed at that moment.

It Happened One Spring by E.L. Deliza is a warm, slow romance with teeny bit spicy scenes.
The way the story unfolds and lets us take in the character dynamics. It had its equal share of emotions and quiet moments.
Their romance developed it in a comfortable pace. Tbh I thought the prologue was supposed to be the stepping stone and they would be exploring their relationship in the starting chapters. But still I liked how they teased and found comfort in each other.

And who am I to say no to a sports romance😭🥰
I really liked the friendship between these 8 friends

And Brooke? How did she even put up with her parents😭😭
I felt like giving Liam two tight slaps. Which part of “I don’t like you” did he not understand
Adam and his family were such cuties

If you are looking for a sports romance in college with subtle tension and lots of teasing this is for you.

It Happened One Spring by E. L. Deliza is a heartfelt college romance that beautifully explores the blurred line between friendship and love. When Brooklyn is left without a place to stay during her final year, her longtime friend Adam offers her a spare room, leading to a roommate situation that slowly changes their relationship. What begins as a casual, no-strings-attached arrangement gradually grows into something deeper as they spend time together in the small, ordinary moments of everyday life. The story captures the uncertainty of young adulthood, balancing dreams, responsibilities, and unexpected feelings. It Happened One Spring delivers a warm friends-to-lovers romance filled with chemistry, emotional tension, and a gentle reminder that sometimes the best love stories begin with friendship. 💕📚

The book not only slayed in romance but alsoslayed with the world's best relation and that is -friendship. There were so many instances in the book that made me go through a lot of emotions. The friendship between all the 4 couples was a chef's kiss.

Brooklyn and Adam's chemistry was quite
sizzling and spicy. Also their emotional bond over family and friends was really cherishing.I got more emotional over the upbringing of Brooklyn and I really wanted to give her a bear hug.I was never a fan of friends to lovers trope but this book was an exception.

I had already read Dante and Darshini's book and hands down they are my favourite. I loved the way all the couples balanced friendship and relationship equally. And I was quite impressed with Adam and his soccer.Altogether, this book is really a warm hug for all the romance lovers who want a blend of family, friendship and of course romance.

ARC REVIEW:
(two line spoiler)

i love the writing of the author, the book os so well written and it was easy to read through it. I look forward to more of her books!!
Adam and Brookly's story is just a chef's special kiss, or so it feels like it.
i do, however, blame the author for raising the standars once again.
"Oh god."
"God already anwsered. I'm here, baby."
OMFGGG, its that and many many more lines and things he has done (dw i wont spoiler any more) In a world full of manchild's he is a gentleman.
Brooklyn was also such a vibe, i feel like she could be my best friend in real life. I lover her character so much.
Ugh i wish they were real.

I received this book as an advanced reader copy from Hawthorn & Aster and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

I loved this book! I ate it up. Adam is the best friend that everyone needs and not just for how their best friend relationship turned out. He was charming beyond belief and so supportive. I loved how even after they went dancing he recognized she would need space and far it to her without pressuring her. He was so in tune with her. He also was an amazing son and grandson. You really felt the love he had for his friends and family and especially Brooklyn. While I didn’t want the actual fall to happen soooo fast, I still found myself unable to put the book down. And Brooklyn, she was just a great FMC. She may have come from privilege but she was so down to earth and kind and loyal to her friends that you wouldn’t even know. I love that she was willing to defy her parents and chase her dreams. I love the support she showed Adam and how she was always genuinely happy for his success. Their friendship was everything and the strong connection they started with is what allowed it to bloom further. This was just a really cute and charming read that I couldn’t get enough of. Thank you Hawthorn & Aster!

🌸Arc Review🌸

I loved the way the author describes spring in this book there’s pastels and fresh, airy vibes that just ties everything together. Adam (MMC) and Brooklyn (FMC) are the last single ones in their friend group. Their story begins when Brooklyn’s dorm floods and she ends up living with Adam, you just know things are about to get interesting. The flirting? Top tier. The banter? Elite. They try the “let’s keep it casual” route (because that always works out), but when Brooklyn attempts to end things near the end, Adam steps up and makes it official in the most swoon worthy way. Overall, it’s sweet, funny, and full of tension in the best way.

Hello, people!
First of all, let me mention that this book is the fourth book in the Seasons of love series.
The protagonists of the story are Brooklyn and Adam, who have the ideal chemistry. Both characters bond incredibly with each other, they are well-written and the author manages to make them accessible and understandable to her readers.
The plot is fast, strong and unique. So is the sketching of all the heroes, central and secondary.
Finally, regarding her writing, I have the best to say. It is sweet, warm, tender, romantic, emotional, enjoyable and pleasant.

Thank you very much to the author and Hawthorn & Aster PR for the eARC!

This is my honest review!

This is a cute college sports romance that focuses on the main characters' journey from roommates to friends to lovers.
Brooklyn has black cat energy which is the perfect balance to Adam's golden retriever energy.
The mutual attraction they fight because they don't want to mess up their amazing friendship and deep connection is breathtaking to see unfold.
The banter between the two of them had me laughing and gasping at the utter perfection and timing.
I loved how much their friendship grows throughout this book. It was deep, true and some of the best friends to lovers tropes I have read in a long while.

This was the only book I have read from the seasons of love series from E.L. Deliza but I now want to go back to the beginning and see how all these 4 couples stories grown from the very beginning.

This story developed so beautifully. Adam and Brooklyn started off as roommates then progressed to being friends. Then friends with benefits. But each of these steps made sense. There were headed in different directions at the end of school. So it just made sense to Keri things casual. Until they realized there were in love with one scorcher. But omgosh, the progression to them leading up to this point was perfect because they built up a beautiful friendship. And imo, that mashes for the best relationship. I honestly could go on and on about these two. They were so great together. I loved this story, loved everything about them.

Throughout this whole series, I have loved the friend group. In It Happened One Spring we get Adam and Brooklyn’s story and it is one full of longing, emotional tension and love.

When Brooklyn needs a place to stay, Adam lets her stay in his spare bedroom. These two settle into a cozy routine, shopping together and cooking together, that then merges to a friends with benefits. It distracts take long for feelings to get involved and both have dreams for their future.

I loved how Adam stepped up when Brooklyn tried to break things off. My heart!

“Thank you, Adam, truly, for everything.” She looked at me with those pretty hazel eyes, and I could only smile like a fool.

This is exactly how this book made me feel like a fool from smiling so hard. I absolutely fell in love with this book within the first pages and it just progressed from every page that I flipped through. Alex was a true gentleman and every bookish girl book boyfriend. One of the best MMC I have read in a while. Brooklyn was just the fiercest sweetest FMC. If I was ever questioning whether I was friends to lovers trope fan this easily answered that question. I absolutely am.

Alex is a soccer superstar in college and Brooklynn an animal loving college student chasing her dreams. Along with their other 6 friends. We embarked on a journey to follow them in their college years but we focus more on Alex and Brooklyn because of course we have a situation that pushes them to have to spend time together. Let me tell you how I was eating it up every page drew me closer to their characters. I adored this book because not only was it an easy read it was relatable. EL Deliza makes it easy for you flip pages so fast you didn’t realize how fast you are eating the book up. This was my first book by EL Deliza and I will be picking up so many more in the future.

Thank you Hawthorn & Aster along with E.L. Deliza for the opportunity to read this.

I enjoyed this story featuring Adam and Brooklynn’s relationship evolve from roommates/friends. To adding in “benefits” before they both finally admitted they were completely in love with each other. The way their story progressed was sensual but more importantly it felt natural and real which speaks volumes to the author and her writing style. The banter between the two cracked me up and the tension between them was swoon worthy. Overall this was a true joy to read.

It's the best friends who love each other without realizing it for me. It's the knowing anticipating and intentional actions from both Brooke and Adam that really bring the romance. From back yard movies to cooking each others favorite meals to dancing in the rain. This book brings all the feels with the love and support that the characters have for one another!
