Small town. Big secrets. One broken man who won’t stop digging.

Earl ain’t smart. Ain’t clean. Ain’t even sure he’s her real daddy. But when his girl disappears and nobody cares—not the cops, not the church, not the town that always saw her as trouble—Earl remembers the last thing she said before she

“If somethin’ happens to me… it was Pastor Dave.”

No one listens to drunks. No one listens to poor folks. But Earl’s got a shovel, a busted truck, and rage sharper than truth. And if he’s gonna burn in hell, he’ll make damn sure the monsters go first.

As Earl hunts for the truth through twisted townsfolk, hollow prayers, and haunted girls, he stumbles into something deeper than just one girl’s disappearance. There’s a system. There’s rot. And there’s a history written in secrets, silence, and the blood of the forgotten.

Some good men stay quiet. Earl ain’t one of them.

Extremely interesting read. with many twists and turns.

Can Earl and Becky Jo find Samantha when the entire town is the problem? What is being hidden by everyone?

Another thriller by a great author.

Well written. The author makes it a point at every turn to immerse the reader in the environment. Definitely non stop emotions and activity throughout the book, and very much an emphasis on describing the five senses used by the characters, bringing the reader into the feeling and vibes of the characters. Twists and turns abound. A great read as usual, from Victor Peter.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

A really immersive deep read, i literally read 2 books of this author back to back , both very different reads in their own rights.

I really liked the synopsis to this book and this takes a very different route that what you may think.

Earl doesnt always get things right in his life and people pre judge him alot but there comes a time when he realises that his daughter is missing and he will move heaven and earth to find her. One thing that pulled my heart strings with this was the built in grief of when you miss something and someone, it was deep and intentional the guilt that manifests itself and springs itself into i need to act on this i need to be better. Its almost haunting in been in Earls mind of how he thinks and feels, and he wants to put things to rights. Accept the eerie setting and people around him just seem to carry on like nothing is a matter, they speak of the childen who disappeared with sympathy painted on their faces, but deep down there is something not quite right. Where is the emotional where are the tears shed, literally no tears are in sight. The anger in Earl fuels amongst every person he encounters the good people who were ment to support and make people feel safe, you can feel the revenge rolling off Earl as the book comes through. The characters are dark and gritty, and i just wasnt quite sure where the last few chapters were going to end up as its not what i thought it would be . Be the inner monologue does reveal.

The book has such as mix as its eerie, haunting , chilling but then i almost felt like a bit of sci fi was built into this book, It has action sections that come thick and fast as a reader and it reminded me a bit of Dean Koontz books ,i feel like this author combines Stephen King And Dean Kootz together ! I felt like i really had to concentrate on some of the chapters to keep up which is really good.

Thanks to BookSirens for this advanced reader copy.

This is a raw, mean gut-punch of a novel that drags faith, power, and small-town hypocrisy straight into the light. Victor Peter gives us a furious, unforgettable antihero and a mystery soaked in rot, rage, and righteous defiance. Brutal, unflinching, and impossible to ignore—this is what happens when the wrong man finally asks the right questions.
