Chesteria Hollis is a professor who’s mastered the art of holding it all together. Between grading never-ending papers, dealing with entitled students who swear they “turned it in,” and sitting through department meetings where shade is passed as professionalism, her patience is thin and her peace is on life support. She’s been showing up for everyone but herself. So when the end of the semester break rolls around, she escapes to her quiet cabin in the mountains to rest and recharge, hoping the cold air will numb what her heart hasn’t stopped feeling.
As a dedicated pilot, Bryce Frost is always focused, constantly moving, and has built a life that doesn’t allow much room for reflection, because reflection leads to feelings, and feelings slow things down. But life has a way of grounding men who stay airborne too long. When Bryce disappears off-grid for a few days, the man who never misses a deadline makes one critical mistake... he forgets to check the guest list at the cabin and comes face-to-face with a situation he never properly landed.
Four adults... one cabin... and nowhere to run. A snowstorm traps them inside, but the real storm brews between two people with unfinished business. Chesteria and Bryce haven’t seen each other in two years, and time hasn’t softened what they lost... or what they still want.
This wasn’t the mini vacation either of them envisioned, but maybe, just maybe, it’s the one they need.
This book had me laughing so hard then crying the next esp the really sentimental points that were bought up. Chesteria and Bryce were a couple who suffered an unimaginable loss that tore them apart and after a couple of years a shared cabin and a mixup forced them to confront some long awaited truths about themselves as individuals and as a whole. You definitely made me love these characters even Isis and Adrian. This cabin trip was funny as hell to see bc it was real raw and definitely relatable to a certain extent. Adrian & Isis were shown one way then another that cast them in very good lights towards the end of the cabin trip. I love how you showed their depth as time went on even after Adrian’s truths came to light and Isis was forced to be more than what she was on the surface. The fact that both couples got happy endings wit the person they were meant to have them with despite coming with the opposite person at first is what I loved. Chesteria and Bryce were able to come back together and be strong than ever before. This is definitely a book I would read again and it’ll be just like the first time. You did your thang boo.
I want to say thank you thank you thank you to My girl Alecia J for bringing another 5 🌟 read into the book world !!! This book was truly beautiful and the laughs baby the laughs stayed coming . You have 4 people stuck together and the back and forth, the shade , the growth , the realness , the laughs , the tears , and BABY THE SWITCH ( when you read you will know ) was worth me not getting any sleep for release night ! St the end of the story I can say there is not one character I don’t like. They may have got on my nerves or were just crazy at the beginning . But towards the end real conversations were hand and real bonds were made between 4 adults . And the miracle at the end for them all! Run do not walk and read this here ! You will not be disappointed!!
Chess and Bryce had that real love. The loss of their baby girl had them split apart, but they still loved each other. They shared a cabin and Chess was going there to spend Christmas there to get herself together. She took Adrian, her lil side piece, so she won’t be alone following up with Klarissa. They get there and then Bryce and his lil rump off, Isis, pop up. They butt heads all the weekend. A bear gets inside the cabin, a snowstorm comes, they are stuck there and then the power goes out. Adrian is found out to be a liar, Isis is boujie and Chess and Bryce finally talk and realize they still want to be together. Isis and Adrian hook up. Both couples end up having babies and either married or engaged! Great story Alecia
This book has so many layers to it. I loved how each character grew, I loved how everyone had flaws and finally came face to face with them. Alecia J writes great books. Her books hit so close to home for me. They will have you shedding a few tears to laughing out loud.
I love this book. I was on an emotional roller-coaster, but in the end, I loved it. Sometimes, you have to go through hurts, pain, love, and life to find each other. I live how the couples were able to find true happiness through being snowed in. It takes a storm to show you who is really meant to be with you.
A laugh out loud second chance romance. Chesteria and Bryce’s love never faded, even after loss, grief, and time apart. The story balances healing, faith, and heartfelt moments with genuinely funny scenes and memorable side characters. Forced proximity, real conversations, and a satisfying reunion make this a feel good read.
Every love story doesn’t end in a period, some end with a coma and some with an exclamation. The two of you weren’t ready to overcome the obstacles placed before you even though love was. Walking away instead of being comfortable is a banner of Self Respect and Peace.
This is definitely a slow burn! They didn’t do anything or really confess their love until 85-90%…but Bryce was definitely funny though even Chess. Adrian and Isis ending up together though 🤔 I don’t see a woman like Isis willing being the 3rd baby mama
This book was so good I’m shocked that Isis and Adrian got together I guess it’s true it’s somebody for everybody lol . I loved the connection between Chesteria and Bryce and I’m glad they got back together.
Alecia J has done it again!! This book was so funny. I couldn’t put it down. I highly recommend reading this book but if u have week bladder when u laugh, I suggest you prepare yourself in advance
This was a good time. Second chance with forced proximity. Snowed in a cabin where all hell breaks loose, lies unfold and unspoken feelings are revealed. This had a lot of comedic moments. I enjoyed reading. Would recommend.
This book was so good. If you love humor, real talk, forgiveness, trust, respect, and love a second time around, then this is your book! I enjoyed the epilogue !
