Possessive Small Town Alpha Kings #11

Lycan King’s Rejected Runaway Bookish Mate: A Rejected Mate Secret Baby Shifter Romance

Rate this book
I got a job as a billionaire's assistant.
Nobody told me he was a Lycan King- or that I'm his fated mate.

I'm a café waitress who devours paranormal romance novels like oxygen. Fated mates, possessive alphas, growly shifters who'd burn the world for their woman- escapist fantasy. Fiction. Not real.

Then a sexy billionaire grabs my arm at a country club and growls "mate."

Jake Hunter. Golden eyes. Jaw sharp enough to cut glass. Obscenely rich. He'd been showing up at my café for weeks, ordering black coffee, watching me like I was prey.

Then he offered me a job for ninety thousand dollars a year.

Soon, he's pinning me against his office wall,
claiming me and making me scream his name.
He even growls with jealousy when any men even breathe near me.

"You're mine. Every inch. Say it."

He's everything I've written in the margins of my favorite books.

Until his coworker makes up a lie - and he believes her over me.

He rejects me in front of his entire pack. Calls me a traitor. Doesn't let me speak.

So I run away, in a new town, with a new name,

With a lycan king's baby growing inside me.

Eight months later, he tracks me down. He looks like death. And when he sees my belly?

He falls to his knees and sobs.

Now he's sleeping outside my door, groveling to get me back,

"I'll give up the throne. I'll give up everything. Just tell me how to fix this."

But I haven't decided if he deserves a second chance- or if I'll watch him burn.

Good story, but some closer editing would be helpful

I have read other stories from the same authors, and while I have enjoyed them, some closer attention to details would help the continuity. For example, the FMC is riding the bus home but turns up the radio to help distract her from her thoughts after meeting the MMC. Another example is after the rejection of the FMC she and her brother leave and take a long bus trip and then a plane to the new town they’ve chosen to escape to. Yet, when the MMC comes after her, he drives six hours to get to the same place. Yes, these are minor things, but are disruptive to the story and somewhat jarring to the reader.

Another sad doormat

I always know it's going to be bad when we get 70% through the book and the betrayer is still being too stupid to live.

No grovel beyond a pathetic "sorry." Complete doormat of a woman who gets body betrayal syndrome and gives in. Priorities, amirite?

What is it with a hero not checking facts before making decisions. I absolutely enjoyed the unlimited part, you'll see what I mean. There was some alot of other women drama that you'll love as well.

Story itself was good- but there was so much repetition- could have easily cut at least 200 pages from it and the story would not have been impacted
