A set of case studies on interdisciplinary health professions education at seven member institutions of the Association of Academic Health Centers. Focusing on institutional rather than programmatic changes, the studies illustrate ways in which changes from the top helped to reverse decades-old trends towards subspecialization and fragmentation between and within heath education institutions. Issues addressed include the type of leadership styles necessary, strategic planning, the necessity of cross-institutional contracts, and the development of a core curriculum. Annotation c.
