Set in a fictional world, a young man known as Cain Madara moves to Artemis, a busy metropolitan city, trying to forget a painful past. His cousin, Genkai welcomes his fresh start of his new life.

During Cain's travel towards Artemis, he learns of a massive multi-player online game called Silence Online. Curious with all the hype, Cain and Genkai try the game out on the first night of his arrival.

With both of them anxious to play, they find that this game isn't what they thought it would be. Both Cain and Genkai find themselves sucked into the virtual reality of the world known as Silence Online. While not trapped in the virtual reality, Cain and his friends realize there is much more to this game than an ordinary computer game. With the ability to switch between the game world and the real world, the group of students live two separate lives which hinder their life as a student.
As if that's not enough, they slowly figure out that people have started to mysteriously disappear after playing Silence. What was the connection between it all? That was a question Cain and his friends were eager to find out.
