The main idea of this book is the festivals of Nigeria. The genre is nonfiction because the history, location, customs, and festivals of Nigeria are described.

In my literacy class I would teach about the difference in language of different cultures around the world with this book. I would help students to pronounce the names of Nigerian festivals like Id al-Fitr to show this.

The authors and other contributors to this series always do a great job in providing more than enough detail on the festivals and history of these countries. For Nigeria there are many pictures and illustrations that accompany the descriptions of the festivals throughout the book. This is a great description of the festivals of Nigeria.
