Born and raised here, in Eagle Bridge, New York, Will Moses creates paintings that reflect the quiet beauty of this tiny community nestled close to the Vermont border. Will has created a vivid, delightful miniature world, peopled with villagers who have stepped out of the past to charm us with their simple, everyday pastimes.

As a fourth generation member of the renowned Moses family, painting is a natural tradition for Will, who began painting when he was four years old. Encouraged by his grandfather, a well-known folk painter in his own right, young Will was allowed to experiment freely with paints. Forrest K. Moses was totally committed to self-expression and passed this freedom of spirit along to his young grandson. Stimulated by his grandfather's confident approach, Will developed his own unique style of Americana.

Today, Will continues to carry on the family tradition. Although his style is reminiscent of that of his celebrated great-grandmother, it is more complex and sophisticated.

This book is considered a Folklore/Fairy Tale collection book for a wide variety if ages. This book takes a collection of familiar folktales and combines them into one collection of Tales. There are five folk tales that are written to teach many lessons. I rated this book a five star because it is well written and the illustrator does a great job at drawing the whole setting and plot in at the end of each folk tale. It's like retelling the tale in the drawing. The language is easy to follow and understand. There are themes and many lessons to learn from each Tale. The Characters are clearly visible and easy to follow. This book would be appealing to young readers because it has great color and story lines that are exciting to read and understand. This would be a great social health discussion book to present to young people.

Beautiful art, but most of it is too small to really enjoy well. Stories are pretty well written, but again, I would have liked (and my children agreed) having the pictures bigger and less text on a page.

1) One observation I had about this book is there is 5 Fairy Tales told in this book. For this review I will be focusing on the Fairy Tale Rumpelstiltskin.
2) One connection I have to this story is the character Rumpelstiltskin was in one of the Shrek movies.
3) One question I have about this book, is why did the author choose these certain 5 fairy tales to put in the book? I also wonder if this author has made any books with different Fairy Tales in them.
4) One surprise was the ending of the story. I had forget that Rumpelstiltskin made a deal with the maiden that he will help her, she will have to give him her first born child.
5) Overall I think this books has a good selection of stories. It gives a very basic introduction to commonly known Fairy Tales.

One of the best collection of classic fairy we've come by.
The illustrations take the cake! I've included this in the 'pictures only' category because every story ends with a full page of gorgeous illustrations telling the tale without words. It's absolutely beautiful to be immersed in these pages, adults included.
This is a classic to have on hand at home or to give as a gift.
