Katie's an investigator for GFI, and is injured quite severely whilst protecting a client. Caleb a work colleague is done with being in the background of her life and steps up to help after her injury. As the story progresses she becomes the focus of a Mexican cartel and life becomes even more fraught for her but Caleb is at her side helping fight through all the issues and when the danger comes to their home and into their circle of friends they all stand together to rid themselves of the problems. This is a follow on story within the Cedar Tree series and I would highly recommend you read them in order to get the full benefits of the story but also the great characters that are the mainstay of these books.
