The Great Strike of 1903 brought the North Wales village of Bethesda to national attention with the dispute between the oppressed slate- workers and the owner and officials of the Penrhyn Quarry. Charles Sheridan Jones was the correspondent sent by The Daily News to cover the unfolding drama.
A very interesting read, especially as I have relatives who worked in the quarry. The forward by Elwyn Hughes was particularly good. Well worth a read.
