Fresh from university with a coveted internship with the wealthiest man in Varen, he's finally escaping the poverty of his childhood. All he needs is one big discovery. Something that will prove he's more than just clever. Something that will change everything.
When he stumbles upon ancient ruins in the desert, he finds it.
Magic.
Real, castable, impossible magic. With nothing but crumbling tablets written in a dead language, Owen must teach himself how to wield this mysterious force—to save himself from a dangerous new league of bandits wreaking havoc on the city.
Perfect for fans of underdog protagonists, action adventures, and medieval fantasy.
Lost in Ruins is the first novella in The Crimson Wizard saga—a low fantasy series about ambition, ancient secrets, and a young man who's about to learn that being clever and being wise are two very different things.
This was quite enjoyable! Fantasy is not my first go-to when I want to read a story, but I had fun meeting Owen. Lost in Ruins (The Crimson Wizard Book 1) should be an interesting series.
