Triggered by Fear

Rate this book
It’s late summer in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Trigger Lanne and her brother Ben are instructing another group of sportswomen at North STAR Camp, set along the eastern shore of White Deer Lake, in the Ottawa National Forest. While fishing, the group lands a grisly catch and the recreational camp becomes a hub of fear. For Trigger and Ben, North STAR (Sportswomen Training And Recreation) Camp is their home and sanctuary. Their job is to teach women outdoor skills and offer a rustic, northwoods experience, not expose them to danger and mayhem. The women attending the camp sessions pack more into their duffels than just wool socks. They bring their past baggage, as well as their natural instincts, causing both trouble and strong resolve for Trigger, Ben, their camp assistant Cappi and the local conservation officer, Finnley Cole. They struggle to keep camp running smoothly by taking the women fishing, canoeing and on a black bear training adventure. Still, nighttime intruders, disappearing women, strange occurrences and injuries lead the group to deviate from their schedule. They are forced to track down clues and culprits rather than relax by the campfire. Trigger’s self-reliant life is cast into unfamiliar waters as she deviates from training her clients to depending on them for survival.
