Video Violence and Children

Rate this book
The Parliamentary Group Video Enquiry was set up in July 1983 to produce factual evidence relating to the effects upon children of their viewing scenes of violence in video films. The book contains the findings of the academic Working Party which undertook the necessary research into this field. The startling conclusions it reached make disturbing reading.

A study carried out during the Video Nasties moral panic.

A flawed methodology. *Alleged* falsified results by certain people on the team carrying out the research.

This was Thatcher Government propaganda to ban certain horror films that didn't deserve to be banned. If it was primarily middle class Tory supporters who watched these kind of films there would have been no research into the 'dangers' and 'effects' of such films on their viewers.
