Ryn of Avonside: The Ring

Rate this book
Just a week after getting dropped onto a vast, alien ringworld — along with the entire Avonside University campus and all of its students — Elias is swallowed whole by a hypnotic magical plant.

Everyone assumes he's dead, even Elias himself — so when he opens his eyes again and finds himself very much alive, he has a whole host of questions. Not about the gorgeous, feminine body he’s in — she loves that. She’s more concerned about the grumpy old woman bossing her around, the weeks that have passed, and the many, many miles between her and her friends.

Armed with a new name and wondrous new powers, Ryn sets out to find her way back to Avonside. But the journey won't be easy — she's lost and alone in a foreign world, and young mages like her are being hunted down by the powers that be.

Ryn of The Ring is a transgender, sapphic fantasy novel featuring ancient mysteries, a unique magic system, and a heaping pile of bunnies.

Trans-women reader's media starvation abated

I needed this book like a tree needs water. Please write as many books like this as possible for me to devour ravenously. This is precisely what I'm looking for in my media diet. You have no idea how much I appreciate the themes, characters, setting, ... just everything. It's like you wrote this book for specifically me. If there is anything I could personally do to sustain your ability to write more like this, I gladly would.

Most books I read that are labeled similarly lack a great deal of substance (lack of plot, shallow characters, etc.). Thank you for this nice meaty tale for my mind to sink into and play in. Om nom nom. Another please! I will be watching and waiting for any and all books you publish next. Ugh. So good. Thank you

Trans Isekai fantasy sci-fi. Yes it works.

Ive been reading Ryn for a while over on scribble hub but the new stuff in the ebook made the story fresh and gave it some more perspectives.

Overall I love the world building how the crazy magic and sci-fi mesh together. Its also very queer

Great characters in a unique setting

If you like fantasy or scifi and queer characters you'll love this story.

The author does a great job putting you in the shoes of a young trans girl as she takes control over her life and gains the confidence and ability to protect herself and the ones she loves.

I can't recommend this enough, do yourself a favor and check it out.

Couldn't stop reading

Okay, the title lies. This book is way too beefy to read in one sitting, but I still made my best effort. I can't recommend this story strongly enough. 11/10.

This book is a wonderfully queer, transfem sapphic portal fantasy, an amazing start to a new series, and quite possibly the best dang debut novel I've read, ever.

The magic is super cool and interesting. The characters are cute and loveable. What more could anyone ask of a fantasy novel <3
