The sacred bones of St. Peter are stolen from the Vatican. North Korea's dictator claims to have them--demanding a ransom of $20 billion and missiles with nuclear warheads. CIA agent Abigail Scott and SEAL Team 9 Commander Cooper Sinclair have fourteen days to retrieve the treasured relics and avert a nuclear holocaust. Tension between the two operatives impacts the outcome of the mission. Will it help or hinder their assignment? There is only one way to find out!
This story combines realistic action and steamy sex in a short, novella format. The action kept coming and kept me reading for an entire evening. I'd rate it a five, except for some of the plot revolving around St. Peter's bones. I'd guess that people with a deeper religious background may find it quite compelling.
Romance sucked and the plot wasn't much better. The characters had no depth and no likable characteristics. Abby and Cooper apparently had a previous relationship and got back together within six pages. They have no spark or chemistry and I didn't really care about them or their relationship. The plot was pretty weak - the reasons for why the players do what they do seemed unrealistic - including a world class SEAL team being sent to retrieve bones.
