America can rise, but the cost is high.

America is existing on life support, but it won’t be long before the plugs are pulled. Only the last ditch heroics by Dr. Rachel Parker may save a country in its death throes. Does Rachel have the strength to recreate the fix by using herself as a guinea pig? There is only one person who can give her the support she needs to succeed, her sister Brenda, but will she take it? The insanity is chaotic, the attacks on America continue and only a miracle can save it. Horrifically realistic, chilling and furiously fast-paced, Can it even be possible to expect a happy ending?

Bonnie R. Paulson’s final book in the Into the End series is a brutal reality check for the possibilities of a world unchecked. Out of the Ashes is a high tension, taut apocalyptic tale that provides a dark, yet entertaining read with lots to think about.

Wow, this book is a page turner. I didn't want it to end. The characters in this final installment of the Into The End series have to make some really tough choices, and we grow with them as they suffer or pull through their trials. Paulson has the ability to create fast paced stories that leave you feeling like you just got of the ride with her characters. You do not want to miss this one!

This post-apocalyptic trilogy has an interesting psychological twist.

America is under attack and individual citizens are being subjected to horrible physical and mental tortures. These tortures were designed by Dr. Rachel Parker with the help of her friend Daniel as her partner to help her pull through the traumatic experiments. Now the foreign enemy is using the methods they designed and the local forces are intent on getting the final tests from Rachel. It isn’t clear if Daniel is standing by to help Rachel or betray her. But Rachel’s sister, Brenda, isn’t willing to trust Daniel at all. She may not completely trust her sister either but she is willing to help her complete the tests if it will help America.

As Rachel, Brenda, and Daniel struggle with the bizarre testing, Josh continues to run missions trying to protect Rachel and others. In a community where it isn’t clear which side the local militia are fighting on is there any hope that an ally can be found to help the beleaguered survivors?

I enjoyed that the story is presented from the view of different primary characters. I really like Josh and his hero nature… even though he makes mistakes too. I liked Brenda’s strengths… even though her past experiences have made her distrustful and cynical. The story kept my interest… even though I never fully understood how Rachel’s self-revelation would help to save America. Since that was a central theme in all three books I sure wish it had been made clear. So, if you can set aside the fact that the central theme might not be resolved, you can enjoy the action and suspense in this post-apocalyptic trilogy.

Audio Notes: David Gilmore did a good job presenting the story without creating any distracting issues. I was a little surprised that this third book narration was completed by Gilmore who narrated the first book and not the second. On the other hand, the change of narrator didn’t impact my interest or engaging with the story. I was glad to have the trilogy on audio.

My Rating: 4.0 of 5.0 Overall; Story 3.75; Narration 4.0.

Great Series

Series was different than most books I read. Not knowing until the very end of one of the m as in characters was a hero or a villain was different. I love the characters by third book. Brenda was the best! Strong, witty, brave, and a sense of humor to. Loved when Brenda was running theories through her head, getting close to an answer and her next thought was who invented bras, since hers was killing her.

Ok dystopia story

The survival part of the story was a quick read, but the psycho-babble was just boring. I know some people have become “sheeple” but not sure about controlling people because they fear being bombed will allow a takeover of the world. The characters were interesting even though they were damaged. We all are in some way or another. The story played out the best it could have.

The End

I have just finished reading Out if the Ashes, book 3 of the Into The End series by B R Paulson. This was a binge read for me starting with the first book of the three book series. Awesome story line. Good strong characters. It was bloody, it was gory but it was a fantastic read.

This book angered me, simply because of the psychological element. I won’t go into details, but it was truly disturbing. That being said, the story was well crafted and there was a happily ever after, sort of. This series is well worth your time.

Into The End

What a well thought out and well executed series this was! It flowed together, gritty and dark. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars! And here's a hug🙅. At least, it's supposed to be one.

Out of the Ashes is an amazing ending to this series. America is still under attack. Brenda has promised Rachel she will do whatever she needs to complete the test. She hasn't a clue the torture shes fixing to unleash on her sister. Pure madness has taken over America and you get from one insane situation to a new one. Out of the Ashes is bringing the Parker family closure and its not all happily ever after and roses. This book portrays a "real" picture of destruction. Thrills, and adventure another great page turner by Paulson. If you began with book one definitely finish the series. Well worth it.

I received a complimentary copy of Out of the Ashes for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.

Thanks.

WOW...."Out of the Ashes" is the third and final book in the 'Into the End Series" and picks up right where the second book left off. Keeping with her intense and thrilling writing Bonnie just keeps producing until the end. A fantastic and thrilling end to the series that kept my attention from the first book through to the last. This is one series that all mystery, suspense and thriller fans should be reading...you will not be disappointed!

Read all three books in order and they should have been combined in 1 book. Felt like there were some missing pieces that went unanswered throughout the books. Overall quick and enjoyable reading.
