I was sent to hunt a predator. Fate decided I belonged to him.
I’m the new chief of police on the Isle of Skara, and my top suspect is impossible to ignore, Kian O’Donnell. Dangerous. Gorgeous. Trouble.
Then he shifts into a massive tiger right in front of me… and everything I know shatters.
Now a supernatural syndicate has put a price on my head—I have evidence that could destroy them, and they'll kill anyone who gets in their way. And the only thing standing between me and death is the smuggler I should have arrested.
Hiding with Kian is a mistake I can feel in my bones. His touch destroys my defenses. His hunger steals my breath. And the bond growing between us is as terrifying as it is addictive.
If he claims me, I’ll become a shifter. His mate. His forever.
But when the enemy strikes, I must the law I’ve always lived by… or the tiger who would burn the world to keep me.
Perfect for fans of fated mates, enemies-to-lovers heat, alpha shifters, and fierce heroines who refuse to break.

The Tides of Fate series continues with Kian's amazing story. While i highly recimmend reading the prevuous 3 books, this one is a standalone and it you can fully enjoy the story without any prior knowledge. Now, Kian is one of the quieter members of The Brotherhood, but he knows how to get things done. Unfortunately, he's caught the eye of the new police Chief, Catriona, and she has every intention of getting Skara cleaned up. Everything about him screams criminal, and maybe that's true, but as the story plays out you understand the choices he's made and the bigger picture goals he desires. Besides, there are far bigger criminal elements at play that Catriona should be focusing on - way worse than Kian. He may, in fact, be the only one capable of helping her get rid of them. As they work together Un a tenuous partnership, these two start to truly understand and "see" eachother, and what they stand for. The unbelievable chemistry they share works both for and against them. If you're a D. Hames fan like I am, you'll love all the action, drama, and tension this story provides, and the sparky banter between Kian and Cat is highly entertaining as well. Now, Finn and Jax remain mateless, but Finn may soon be off the market to if the little teaser at the end of this book is anything to go by.😉 Check it out!
I gratefully accepted a gift copy of this book and voluntarily provided this review. Happy Reading Y'all 📚
Simply wonderful read, great characters and a plot that held me riveted throughout This was a simply wonderful read; this is another simply wonderful occasion when the brotherhood shows how wonderful they are when they come together and actually get together and work to protect one of their own. Kian is a dangerous and lethal predator and as he shows he is lethal, deadly and more than capable of protecting from the syndicate who are trying to kill his mate and there is no way he is going to allow this to happen as long as he continues to draw breath. He swears that he will do whatever it takes to keep his mate safe and sound and happy and healthy. I found this to be a riveting read that held my attention from start to finish and I cannot wait to read future books in this series; the plot and the characters are always simply wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.
The brotherhood has been fighting the syndicate which runs a plethora of illegal activities - not limited to the “routine” crimes of trafficking and smuggling but stepping up to arcane artifacts and trafficking supernaturals. Enter Catriona, the new police chief, who immediately sees something she shouldn’t. Kian is one of the brotherhood and tasked with either throwing her off the scent or getting rid of her. What he finds, though, is that she’s his mate, who can fill the empty spaces he has living without clan. But he does the male shifter thing where he tries to make her decisions for her and she sticks to her guns, smacks back and points out her law enforcement experience is valuable to bringing the syndicate down. Good read. We get to learn more about the brotherhood’s members and secrets as the fight continues.
I received a free Advance Review Copy of this book and this is my voluntary review.
A very fast paced riveting Stormhaven Brotherhood novel to immerse yourself in. Catriona McLeod is the new police Chief of Stormhaven and witnesses a transaction between Kian and the Russia syndicate on her 1st night on Skara, but the shocker is, she saw Kian disappearing in a silver mist. Her deputy calls her out on her snooping, but offers no info. Catriona is an experienced cop, sharp and tenacious as hell. Kian is between the Devil and the deep blue Sea. His tiger wants her as his mate, but the syndicate wants her dead. Packed with action, anticipation, forced proximity plus an engaging storyline makes this book unputdownable. Fated mates and a HEA except the Phoenix is not dead and will be back in Finn's book up next. I'm drooling in advance. I received an advanced review copy and leave this review voluntary Thank you BookSirens
This was my first book to read from Delta James, and I enjoyed being introduced to her shifter world. I feel like perhaps I'm missed some context hopping in at Book 4 of a series, but it was an interesting read nonetheless, and it won't be my last. The premise is intriguing, the mystery fun and the romance spicy. Honestly, my main critique has to do with the prose. There's significant redundancy, particularly of thought and description. How many times do we need to hear about the same internal struggle? And there were several places where the FMC was described in identical terms mere pages apart. To be fair, editing is a big part of my job, and I probably picked up on these issues more than most. And they certainly won't stop me from checking out James' other books in the series.
Many thanks to BookSirens for an ARC in exchange for my honest assessment of this work.
Catriona is the new chief of police on the Island and is determined to stop the smuggling ring. When she starts collecting evidence, she puts herself in the crosshairs of the Syndicate and has no idea of the trouble she has put herself in the middle of. Kian is in a tricky situation, he is drawn to Catriona, his tiger knowing she is his mate and he is trying to outwit the Syndicate. This is an action-packed story: Catriona is a strong-willed and determined woman who will not back down from injustice, and Kian is not as bad as he thinks he is. The story moves at a fast pace, the storyline had me gripped from the very start. The hook at the end for the following book is excellent! I voluntarily received and reviewed an ARC copy of the book.
Another exciting read in this series, the Brotherhood come together to protect their own!
Kian is a predator to his core, dangerous, lethal, deadly and fighting with himself to protect his mate from the syndicate out to kill her or to blow his cover with them to save countless paranormal lives.
The heat is scorching, their connection is intense, can the brotherhood trust her and bring her into their fold before it’s too late.
An entertaining read with a wonderful HEA leading to an explosive ending you won’t want to miss.

Overall I thought this book was good. It held my attention well and the plot and characters were pretty well developed. It was a bit repetitive at times and repeated some sentences word for word, although the repetition was minimal and didn’t detract too much from the story. This book is a paranormal romantic suspense and the 4th book in a series. It can be read as a standalone, the main couple get their HEA, but the storyline is not complete. It doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, but the storyline continues in the next book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
There is a containing storyline in each book of this series. No cliffhangers, which makes it easy for the books to be read as stand-alones.
Kian and Catriona's story is filled with action and suspense. At the beginning, I thought Catriona was pure letter of the law, everything is black or white, until discovering that theory wasn't quite accurate. The most frustrating part was waiting for Kian to get fully on board in spite of what his tiger was demanding.
The last battle was pretty intense. I'm looking forward to Finn's story and also seeing where Anya will fit into the Brotherhood, if at all.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
This one was special. There are two people who are both looking for a place to belong. Some place that wouldn’t just use them up and spit them out when they had nothing left to give. Kian had found a home on the island where he found useful work and companionship with the Brotherhood and Catriona was looking for a place she could make her mark and be respected for who she was and what she did. Together they are able to become so much more than they ever expected.
So suspenseful, a love shifter story on a small island. Catriona and Kian’s story is one of stubbornness and respect. Finding out what she didn’t believe is shocking but seeing it herself makes it true. As an police officer Catriona is there to protect and find out what’s going on on the docks. Is she getting in over her head? Find out and read this story. It’s a awesome read.
This book is the 4th book in the series. It is a paranormal romantic suspense and can be read as a standalone. It is an enemies to lovers who are fated mates, enemies, with strong alpha shifters, and fierce heroines who refuse to break. This is full of drama, suspense, action and adventure.
