The second book in this series was immersing and took the characters on a wild ride. The highs and lows of the story really had me on the edge of my seat, especially toward the end of the book. The suspense is felt when the author was building up to a big revelation.

It was so hard to have Aurius lose himself and keep pushing away Gwen. She wants to save everyone and because everyone believes she can save one her heart is broken into how she can decide. Her struggle of loving Aurius and him being so cruel to her and her resilience to keep loving him.

The end took me by wonderful surprise and also intrigued me to think we may not be done with these characters’ story
