I crave her. Stalk her. Obsess over her. And tonight, I finally make her mine.
Sixteen years ago, I took everything from her—her brother, her innocence, her future.
Now I'm taking the rest.
She’s brilliant, plus-size, and the one thing that lights up my darkness. She doesn't know that I watch her every move from my observation room. That I regularly break into her apartment. That I just bought the building she works in.
That I touch her while she sleeps.
She built a fashion empire from nothing, and I'm going to destroy it. Piece by piece, until she has nowhere left to turn.
Except to me.
They call me a monster. They're right.
I break people. I manipulate them. I watch them suffer. And that's exactly what I'll do to anyone who comes close to her.
I've shut off anything that resembles feelings or memories from my past. But she does things to me that make me feel almost human. I need her to need me.
But she isn't breaking the way I planned.
Even as I reveal the depths of my obsession, and the special room I had custom-built for her, she doesn't run. She's the queen to my king in a game she never agreed to play.
Now the secret society wants to meet the woman who tamed their most ruthless member.
Welcome to the Club, pretty mouse.
The game is up. And I'm here to claim my prize.
Ready or not, here I come.
This is a complete standalone dark romance featuring an obsessive anti-hero stalker who falls first and harder. Prepare for an intense, all-consuming love story built on obsession, control, and the fine line between salvation and possession.
TRIGGER Stalking, OTT obsessive/possessive/controlling behavior, emotional manipulation, intentional isolation, destruction of FMC's business, dominance/submission dynamics, morally gray hero who orchestrates FMC's dependence.
18+ mature content. Not suitable for younger readers.
This was a great idea for a dark romance, but there were a lot of problems with the story development. The writer seems to either be untried in writing or unwilling to dig deeper and give us a 3d story. The scenes written often tell the reader how a character feels instead of writing vivid scenes that make the reader feel and see the unfolding. The side characters only grace the pages in very specific scenes to move the story on but lack any real connection with the main characters. If the writer introduced a best friend, then we should see a real and believable relationship, and not random scenes were the best friend only yells at the main character to stop something only to be ignored anyway. It does not feel like a real relationship. That is a problem even with the relationship between the MMC and the MFC. Another problem is that the characters are too in sync with each other that they do not seem to be two distinct people. You want the two main characters to understand each other, yes, but as a reader, you know the characters are going to be built differently to compliment each other. You want understanding, yes, but you do not want them to be a copy instead of fitting together like puzzle pieces. The book is too rushed, relying too much narration to push the story instead of lived imaginary. The spice was very lacking too, and in this kind of dark romance, you expect good spicy. At best, I see this book as more of an outline than a complete book. The writer needs to be pushed, and it needs more rewrites. It can get to a 4 or 5 star ranting, but not as it is now.
Secret society Stalker romance Obsession Touch her 💀vibes Mine Standalone
Eve Sinclair is a fashion designer. Starting on her own and grieving for her brother’s death. She feels someone is watching her. At events she spots a green eyed man. She has shivers and wants to know more about this man. Nathan Hale started off as protecting Eve but now it’s become an obsession of his. He killed her brother, Alex. The Order gives Nathan power, resources and connections. He makes his move and destroys Eve’s fashion business so he can have her all to himself. Eve’s personal life is being invaded, her business is under attack & people around her are disappearing. Nathan controls Eve’s world. No one can have her. He is obsessed with her. But then his obsession turns to love. Will Eve forgive Nathan for everything that he’s done? Loved this book and the characters. Lara Hart is a new author to me and I cannot wait for more.
I like books that make me sigh with satisfaction at the end. And this was the case. Although it looked all sorts of things, it turned out very well.
Personally, I liked Nathan from the beginning, I kept my fingers crossed for him to achieve what he wanted and what he had planned very well and for a very long time.
Eve didn't really get me (she cries a lot) but to be fair to her, she had her bright moments.
Anyway, the book was a good read, the changing of perspectives was nice, I always appreciate that. I would like to read something from this author again in the future.
Note (more like 5/5 for me): Story: 🫀4 Spice: 🔥 3 Action: 🥷2 FMC: 👰 2 MMC: 🫅 5
Until I Break You is quick, has light spice, and is a little twisted. There’s deception, a secret society, and some dark revelations. Nathan has watched Eve as she’s built her empire, now he’s ready to break it all down, to break her so he can keep her. As Eve’s life is turning upside down and her stalker is closing in on his prey, Eve finds herself in a predicament that causes her to question everything.
Dang… talk about control, obsession and constructed reality.
Nathan takes each of those things to a new level. I like the moments in which Eve stood her ground and took back some of her power. I would have love to see her make him grovel a bit more and make it worth her while to offer forgiveness and understand! I am excited to see how Mr. Cross plays out in future books (and can we get a dungeon scene?!)but overall it was a worthwhile read!
2.75⭐️ I think I would have loved this a lot more if it was longer and there was more time in between her forgiving her. It seemed every time he did something wrong she forgave him in the next second and I would have lovedddd to see her run away just once like yes girl make him chase you! The spicy scenes felt kind of similar over time but heck I enjoyed this and had fun. I’ll always be down for a quick spicy read
The book was a good one. The darkness that took off from the very beginning to its end in the light. Kept me reading to find out what happens next. It kind of showed how someone else dark is someone else light.
Illusion Everything Nathan has done in Eve’s life has been done for this. For them. But is it? Or is it all an illusion based on lies he’s told not only her, but himself as well.
This book was written beautifully but it was also missing something. I liked the idea of Eve and Nathan’s story but for one I feel as though she gave in far too quickly, and certain parts were not detailed enough. Like their relationship when they were younger, details of his obsession were both detailed and vague all in one go. I don’t know, something was missing but overall it was a decent read. If someone is looking for a more subtle fifty shades of grey book, then feel free to read this one.
