Cara Addison

Born and raised in Southern Ontario, Cara Addison has used drive, tenacity, ambition, and out-of-the-box thinking to ascend the Canadian corporate ladder to shatter the proverbial glass ceiling. As the CEO of a government firm, Cara prefers to be out in the trenches, working to provide solutions rather than sitting behind a desk. Over her fifteen-year career, Cara has given back to her community, supporting her philanthropic interests as she provides strategic governance on numerous boards of directors.

While Cara loves to succeed in her work, it was an impromptu challenge to herself that led her to sit down one day and write a piece of fiction that was worthy of publication. Being an avid daydreamer since childhood, she transferred her own wit and humor to the narrative and dialogue of the characters that resided in her imagination. Words poured onto the page and within weeks, she had a full-length novel with characters, events, and situations that were influenced by the people and places in her everyday life.

In typical fashion, Cara found herself submitting ‘Passion, Power, and Privilege‘ to a publisher just thirty days after Kate Callahan and Bradley Taylor materialized in her imagination. Having boldly submitted her first manuscript she began writing another while balancing the demands of work and a young family. Remarkably, Cara has managed to juggle her career, motherhood, and the creative process of writing. In the past twelve months, this literary newcomer has written and published a total five full-length novels. According to this prolific author, a sixth is in the works.

As the mother of two young daughters, Cara involves her girls as she indulges in outdoor adventures, shares her love of new travel destinations, tends to the backyard vegetable patch, and uses those fresh ingredients in her everyday cooking.

With a growing catalogue of novels, Cara uses her social media savvy to engage and interact with readers. Her playful, clever, and sometimes naughty banter resonates with male and female readers alike.

Cara’s novels include:
Passion, Power, and Privilege
Going The Distance
The Fortuitous Pen [Sequel to Going The Distance]
Every Second Weekend
Loans Lust and Lies

First, this is a Cara Addison novel, which means there is hot sex and lots of it, between two very attractive people. But this time, the heroine (CJ) and her hero (Dale) are middle-class with a full set of quite normal problems. He teaches high-school English. She juggles a job, two kids, one cat and a divorced husband.

Every second weekend (and one night a week) the ex-husband takes the kids; CJ and Dale take each other. Their torrid affair marches from lust at first sight toward happily ever after, but not without a full set of plot twists along the way. (Will the kids accept their mother's first boyfriend? Will CJ have sex with Dale's identical-twin brother, who pretends to be Dale? And then there are the accidents.)

Rating: 5 of 5. The writing is Addison's best yet. CJ is strong, sexy and has a great sense of humor. She goes hiking with Dale in Skechers, not designer shoes. But can you guess what they'll do when they come to that secluded spot on the trail? Hint: It's a Cara Addison novel.

First off.....this is the only book I have read by Cara Addison and I will tell you right now-it is not my last. Great story line, realistic plot and page melting sex! This book did a great job of giving us a view into a divorced mom and her new squeeze while dealing with a job, ex-husband and two young daughters. I was loving the wholesome high school teacher that had some "real hidden talents". This book also had a couple of twists and turns that I didn't see coming(which I can usually predict). I was given a copy for an honest review.

This was my first Ms. Addison book and I'm so happy to come across her books and have the opportunity to review in exchange for an honest opinion.

The storyline was wonderful, I love reading a book about mature women with children. CJ and Dale are the main character's in this book and the chemistry between them is off the charts! Very interesting mix with Dale's family dynamics and CJ's ex-husband.

Recommend for anyone who wants to read some off the charts sex scenes!

If you are looking for seriously hot romance, Every Second Weekend is the book for you. Cara Addison is a new author for me, and boy can she write a story that packs a big, sexy punch. This is a feel good romance that is ideal to curl up with in front of the fire with a glass of wine and some chocolates.

CJ is a great character - I loved her. Feisty, strong, sexy and funny, she is a great mom who works hard to raise money for her charitable organisation - she really is a super mom. Dale is also a likeable character and he is the perfect match for CJ. It was lust at first sight for both of them, but much stronger feelings soon developed.

Their relationship is not without ups and downs - from a trouble making ex husband, Dale's family problems and the often difficult task of introducing a new partner to your children. This is believable tale with likeable lead characters, who have normal problems - but who also have a fantastic sex life! The sex scenes are sensual and well written - and they are hot, hot, hot!

I really enjoyed this book, I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who likes their romances to be deliciously steamy.

Every Second Weekend gets five sexy stars.

CJ Adams is a divorced mother of two beautiful girls. Her world revolves around her girls and her job. She decides she needs to get out more. Her friend invited her to a birthday party. CJ didn't know they'd invited colleagues of Matt's to the party. It's at this party she meets Dale Anderson. He's a teacher and new to the area. When he spots CJ he knows he must meet her. Their connection is instantaneous. Is it just a spark or perhaps a lasting flame?

This book is an excellent mix of love, fun and romance. It's sensual and seductive but also describes what divorced parents go through. I related to what CJ was going through. The writing is fantastic and these characters totally believable and relate-able . The sex wasn't just gratuitous sex, it was a very natural progression of events. You'll enjoy this book and it will increase the heat level in your bedroom.

I found no issues.

I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because it's an excellent book. ~Copy of book provided by author in exchange for a fair review~

Another brilliant sexy read from Cara Addison. In this lovely sex filled romp, she brings us the story of CJ and Dale. CJ is a divorced mother of 2 wonderful little girls, Dale is a high school English teacher. They meet at a friends birthday party and the magic starts!

It is called every second weekend because that is when CJ's ex has the girls. So, while the kids are away CJ and Dale play. It has some wonderful twists and turns, a crazy ass twin brother, and because it's the divine Ms. Addison the sex could melt an iceberg! I love strong female characters and CJ is just that strong, funny and sexy as hell. Dale is strong and supportive. It's a wonderful ride. I think of the books I've read this is the best one yet! I look forward to reading more Cara Addison novels.

This was my first book by Cara Addison and it did not disappoint me. I loved that CJ and Dale were both older, established in their respective careers, and had much life experience behind them. The combustion that happens whenever these two are together is hot and steamy! They manage to keep things exciting and hot even when life throws some curve balls at them. Some of these obstacles had me tearing up, both happy and sad tears. CJ and Dale's story had me captivated from the first chapter! Looking forward to more from this author!
