Therapy Session

Rate this book
My husband and I have been inseparable since middle school. First loves, first kisses, first and only lovers. But after one wild game night, we realized how much we’d been missing. There were desires and experiences we’d never explored.
So we created a plan. One night, one fantasy. No rules except neither of us would know what the fantasy was, and neither of us would know who was chosen to fulfill it.

And when my turn came… the choice I made changed everything.

This was just what the doctor ordered - an enticing, sensual, grown up story. I loved the spice, the open communication, the willingness to seek expert advice and creating an unforgettable experience. Okay, Ms. Scott, you did that!

This was a very grown novella. A happily married couple respectfully and responsibly approaching new desires and curiosity. I actually want more!

I enjoyed every aspect of this book. It was so hot and steamy. That game night got the over preheated and warmed up. BUT Paging Dr. Long D*%k! Paging Dr. Long! Quentin was putting down some strong shit! The way I ran through this book should be a shame, but I feel not one ounce of it. Waiting with bated breath for book two’s arrival! Will be reading ASAP! I NEED to know what happens next!

I love a good mental health professional in romance… but let’s be clear — rule #1 is don’t date your client. That’s Ethics 101. Immediate license in danger. We all know this.

Now that we’ve acknowledged the red flag?
This book was TOO GOOD and entirely too spicy for my moral high ground to survive.

Dr. Long?? Sir. If there were a masterclass titled How to Put a Woman Through the Mattress, he’d be the keynote speaker. The stamina. The confidence. The audacity.

And Breeze out here asking the real question:
“Am I missing something you’ve never experienced?”

Ma’am. The answer is clearly yes because every “just one more time” turned into five to seven business days of repeat behavior.

It was messy. It was unethical. It was hot.
And I’m not proud of how much I enjoyed it.

Also… the chemistry had such strong throuple potential and I will continue manifesting book three. The universe is listening.

Well, well, well!! First read by D.Scott and I’m hooked! 🥰 Tim and Breeze have been together since they were pre-teens and married for 20 years. All is well in life and business, until one game night with friends. Things got a lil wild, and they both wonder about the things they’ve missed, being only with each other. They agree to a one-time 24-hour pass to live out their fantasy and get it out of their system. Being the mature adults they are, they choose to seek therapy to learn how to do this properly and maintain their marriage bond.

Enter Dr. Quentin Long, family therapist. This is where things get sticky. Dr. Long guides the couple and helps them understand how to deal with their feelings and emotions if they go this route. All the while Breeze has something or someone rather already on her mind! 😜

Whew….. let’s just say Breeze’s 24-hour pass was unforgettable! 🥵 But what now? Can she just walk away with that one experience and be satisfied? That ending says different! Ready to jump right into book 2. Hope we learn how Tim’s night panned out. Enjoyed this! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Let me just say… as a married woman, I would never 😌 but it is fun to read how other folks be moving.

This was a short erotica centered around a happily married couple exploring the idea of stepping outside their norm for a one-night experience. Not opening up their marriage, just… testing the waters a little. And I’m not mad at how it played out.

Breeze’s moment? Whew. That one night had some real passion behind it. I was reading like okay now… if she spin the block, feelings might get involved 👀

Overall, this was quick, spicy, and entertaining. Definitely did what it needed to do for a short read. (4/5)

Had me saying “well d*mn!” from start to finish. “Urban erotica” isn’t usually my go-to genre, but this book might’ve changed my mind. We follow Breeze Thompson and her husband Tim, married for 20 years and ready to spice things up after only ever being with each other. A therapy appointment with Dr. Quentin Long sets things in motion, and from there the story takes a very steamy turn. It’s an easy, fast, and undeniably steamy read.

Dr. Long with the shlong 🤭

This is about a married couple wanting to experience new things with intimacy with others. Let’s just say it’s everything of steamy and addicting. Definitely was a good read and I’m more than positive she will be making a part two.

Book Review – Therapy Sessions by D. Scott ⭐⭐⭐

I found this book on TikTok straight from the author’s page, so of course I had to check it out. It was a short, quick read, easy to get through, and overall decent—but not quite what I expected.

I felt like we got all of Breeze’s experience, her thoughts, her emotions, her journey—but we barely got anything from Tim’s side, and that imbalance left the story feeling a little incomplete for me. I wanted more depth there, more insight into his perspective.

That said, Q absolutely fulfilled all of Breeze’s expectations of what she wanted, and I did enjoy seeing that play out. That part felt satisfying and intentional.

My biggest issue? The TikTok post hyped the ending like it was about to be completely unhinged… and it just wasn’t. I kept waiting for that jaw-dropping moment, and when it ended, I was like, “Oh… that’s it?”

Still, it’s a solid read if you want something quick and straightforward—just don’t go in expecting the chaos TikTok teased.😏
Was it still enjoyable? Yes.
Did TikTok oversell the ending? Absolutely.

3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars!! This story follows Breeze and Tim, high school sweethearts turned married couple, who head to a couples’ party at one of Breeze’s friend’s homes, and it’s definitely not the night they thought they were walking into. After that wild night, they end up giving each other a 24‑hour pass to be with anyone they want. Would you take that deal? If you’re into quick reads with plenty of spice, this one definitely is for you.

I’ll Take Quentin

One couple and a therapist. When it gets to a point there’s only two POVs. It’s a very fulfilling 24 hours spent on this inquisitive session. No info on Tim’s session but Breeze and Q’s was eventful. I enjoyed it, every hour, every shower and every bottle of water. But this ending! Ummm, Miss Scott, you about to get messy huh!?!? Or you just leaving it at that?

Therapy Session

Sigh…… I just want to know why it was soooo short lol. I enjoyed reading this book so much!!! I also love the fact that exploring what they did didn’t change their dynamics. It’s nice to introduce things that you may want to explore and not be shamed for it. I do wish the story was longer lol but it was a great read.

it was…

It was ok. Took too long to really get to the point. Pointless details on some things. The night they had together but seemed like she was more uncomfortable and nervous after suggesting it. Also, what annoyed me was that we didn’t get to see who her husband ended up being with and how his night went. Was he uncomfortable? Nervous like she was? Excited? It was decent.

omg

Tim and Breeze, who’ve been together for 20 years and have only ever been with each other. After a wild game night with friends exposes them to a more sexually explorative side of their circle, they start questioning whether they want to explore more in their own marriage. Tim finds them a marriage counselor, Quentin, who just so happens to be someone Breeze has briefly met before when he brought his sister to their dealership to buy a push gift and Quentin very openly lusted after her then. The story is told through two points of view, Breeze and Quentin, which really adds to the tension and messiness of it all. Whew. This book was wham, bam, thank you ma’am. I honestly wish we’d get a follow-up because it feels like we’re left with a bit of a cliffhanger, like the door is cracked back open. I really want to know what Tim was up to during his 24 hours and who he spent them with. There are so many directions this story could go, especially with Quentin and his ex-girlfriend/assistant. I definitely got the vibe that even though he’s scared of her and her wild ways, he low-key still wants her back. What really makes this story taboo, though, is that Quentin is their therapist. Breeze didn’t choose him Tim did, which somehow makes it even messier. For me, it’s not about Breeze picking Quentin for her 24 hours, it’s the fact that he’s their therapist that I just couldn’t get past. That part is messy as hell, and I kept wondering what would happen if Tim ever found out. That’s honestly what made me care less for Breeze, because there’s some real deception happening there. This is a short erotic novella, but it definitely packs a punch and will absolutely leave readers wanting a follow-up.

So imagine being married to your man since y’all were basically kids, feeling real secure… and then ONE game night with friends cracks the whole foundation and makes you realize you might be a little more vanilla than you thought. 😭 What do you do? You book a marriage counselor and ask for guidance on how to explore some… extra experiences outside your marriage.

Now listen...Quentin? Fine. Fine-fine. Breeze clocked it immediately when she first met him. But BABYYYY… the moment she walks into that counselor’s office and realizes he’s the therapist?
Mic dropped.
World stopped.
Session started. 😮‍💨

This was a quick, spicy little read that knew exactly what it was doing. I will say the beginning takes its time warming up, but once that spark catches? Oh, hold onto your hats… literally. Because it goes DOWN.

I’m lowkey hoping the author blesses us with a follow-up because I need the husband’s POV immediately. And while we’re at it… could we also maybe hear from Q’s baby mama? 👀 Just a thought!

Overall, this one was fun, bold, and did what it needed to do. Go ahead and jump into D. Scott’s catalog, she does not miss. 🔥📚

A Time Is Had!!!

Communication is the key to all relationships. The furthest thing from your mind could be what you needed most. There’s nothing wrong with change a room door. Everyone one has a fantasy or two they wish to fulfill. Let’s chat!

Who would’ve thought that a game night wood change the dynamic behind closed doors🤭! Who would’ve thought that therapy could assist with this. I enjoyed the fact that Breeze & Tim were open with each other and very secure with their relationship to try something new. Them taking the needed steps to start something new is not something most would do🫣. Breeze got more than she bargained for 🤭 especially when she seen who the therapist will be - Quentin Long🤭. The terms were simple for 24 hours and my girl got turned every way but loose.

Though it was for 24 hours, the experience would last a life time. With the dynamic changing behind their closed door, the 24 hrs they had changed more than they expected. This was a quick and nice erotica. Can’t wait to see what Book 2 brings. D. Scott has a new reader that’s not going anywhere. I’m locked in.

I might have to take a step back from popular book recommendations 😅

The premise seemed intriguing but I had a few issues with the book that I couldn’t get over and had to decide on 3 stars:
- the tense kept changing within the book. This is becoming a big pet peeve of mine, because it just disrupts the slow of the narration in my head
- a lot of time was given to the most random moments and details. Why so much information and context around the MMCs child and ex if it contributed nothing to the story? I appreciate context and development in a story but so may of those details didn’t drive the plot forward
- connected to the first point, the whole point of the book didn’t start until like 80% of the way. And I wouldn’t even consider it a slow burn build up (which I enjoy ok I don’t NEED spice in a book), but it just felt short lived

The story started off great, but why skip juicy/relevant scenes like the very difficult conversations the FMC would have to have with her husband and instead show us scene with the MMC at a diner with her son???

Based on the writing style I will not be reading book 2 unfortunately.

Please tell me there's more...

Tim and Breeze have been together for 20 years, since they were 12!!! They love each other, the work together, and intimacy is not a problem. A wild, drunken game night with friends brings the realization that they never explored anything "different." That night unlocks something inside the couple that leads them to a "hall pass" of sorts. Responsibly, the couple seeks counseling before making a decision that could potentially alter their marriage. Their therapist is someone Breeze has encountered before that actually made her feel things no one beside her husband had. Quentin helps them navigate their decision in more ways than one. Y'all, I've never read a book like this. I went in blind, not even knowing what the book was about. I just picked it out of the blue. It didn't disappoint. When game night started to go off the rails, I didn't anticipate Tim and Breeze making the decision to try something new. I don't think this is the end of their story, but it was certainly an interesting start. Happy Reading Y'all!💋

Whoa!! This was…..interesting. Tim and Breeze have been together since middle school so obviously they’re each others first EVERYTHING. One night during a party with their friends the couples decide to play a game and things get SPICY! What started as truth or dare questions ended with partner swapping, although Tim and Breeze didn’t go that far that night it did raise some questions about the things they never got to experience. They are completely in love and are satisfied with their sex lives but are both curious, they start seeing Dr Q, a marriage therapist to navigate these new feelings, and discuss a possible plan for a one night hall pass for each of them.

Things escalated quickly and baby Breeze used her 24 hour pass to the FULLEST 🥵unfortunately as the reader we don’t get Tim’s pov of his night and since the couple decided not to talk about each other’s 24 hours or who they spent it with it was kind of left open and then the ending!? I need more!!

What yall waiting for... read it

Therapy Session by D. Scott has me second guessing my life choices because maybe I do need to see a therapist😮‍💨 (Dr. Long to be exact)😂🤭
Because Dr. Long and yes, the name fits him very well...whew. Baby, I would’ve paid good money to be a fly on the wall for that bathroom mirror scene and the patio scene. Q. was wearing Breeze the f**k out! You hear me? My girl was all discombobulated 🥴😂 The spice was definitely spicy 🌶🌶🌶🥵 What I really loved though is how everything circled back around in the end. It wasn’t just spicy for spice’s sake... it was intentional, layered, and left me sitting there like… now hold on 🤔😏
And the way it wrapped up? Yeah, it’s giving part two energy, and I’m already seated.
Author D Scott you did that, hunny ✍🏽🔥 Another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Therapy Session by D. Scott is definitely grown people being grown. Tim and Breeze are in a long-term marriage and have only ever been with each other, so when a couples game night shifts their perspective, things get interesting fast.

They decide to seek therapy to navigate the idea of each having a one-night stand—and Breeze choosing the therapist!!

Dr. Long and Breeze have instant chemistry, and that’s when the story really hooks you. I really wish we got Tim’s POV, though. I’m so curious about what his 24 hours looked like and who he spent them with.

I’m also not sure how I feel about them continuing therapy with Dr. Long… ethically messy, but definitely intriguing.

This is one of those novellas I wish I had buddy read because I have thoughts and wanted to yap about it. Overall, a good, sexy, thought-provoking novella.
