Snides - where Hitler's SS fights the British SAS - thirty years after WW2 has ended! This action-packed story moves rapidly from London to Normandy in 1944, three days after D-Day, and from Belfast in Northern Ireland to the desert of Oman and the battle-torn streets of Berlin in 1945. It's a gripping chase for possession of a rare Nazi document and some incriminating photographs of a British renegade who fought for Hitler's Waffen-SS in WWII, as a member of the infamous British Free Corps. Ex-SAS trooper John Pilgrim now runs a store selling militaria in Soho, London's 'Sin Center'. He meets a feisty American reporter, Sally Brandon, who not only looks good, but shoots straight too. When Pilgrim and Sally get together, bullets fly, and the bad guys die!
Being a huge fan of World War II stories, this book had me at the cover...happily the story did not disappoint. Tony Walker's unique style and memorable (not to mention extremely like-able) characters drew me in to this fast moving adventure from the opening chapter. The action moved along at a good pace and the "slow spots" were kept to a minimum. I finished this book looking forward to the next installment in the John Pilgrim series.
