Well, how can I not love this book. I'm in it! Jack is such a wonderful story teller. I wish you all could hear him tell this story in person.

Bishop Sperry was something of an arctic pioneer, having begun to serve in the Canadian North when it was considerably more remote than it is today. He fully immersed himself in the surrounding culture, becoming fluent in the Inuktitut language and familiar with their customs, not to mention becoming part of their lives and they of his. This book is a fascinating account of his forty-plus years in the Arctic and it provides a fascinating (and eye-opening) read. My only regret is that, with his characteristic humility, he did not say very much about himself.
