When Jessica Mitchell traded her hectic corporate life in Boston for the cobbled streets of Rochester and her Jane Austen-inspired dream of living in England, finding her own modern-day Mr. Darcy, she never imagined her quiet new life would come with a deadly edge. A shipment of diamond painting kits arrives carrying more than just plastic drills, with actual diamonds hidden among the supplies, Jessica is thrust into a glittering web of crime, danger, and mystery.
With murders tied to her shop, nosy knitters spreading rumors, and a brooding art appraiser whose secrets are as sharp as his jawline, Jessica must unravel the truth before she becomes the next victim. Can she solve the mystery, clear her name again, and salvage her Austen-inspired dream of life in Rochester, or will this quaint English village claim more than just her peace of mind?
Set against the picturesque charm of Rochester, Diamonds & Deception is the dazzling second installment in the Novels & Needles series—a perfect blend of Jane Austen wit, cozy mystery intrigue, and a heroine who’s as clever as she is determined.
Another entertaining book about Jessica Mitchell, an American transplanted in England, and the escapades and murders that happen in her craft shop, Novels and Needles. Her newest crafting circle is diamond painting, a wildly popular craze that's sweeping the world. But most kits don't have real diamonds in them, do they? Wink wink. I enjoyed reading this book.
Loved this 2nd book in this series, with Jessica Mitchell. I loved the plot, again. And as a dog lover myself, Jessica's pup Mr. Darcy is such a fun loving complement to the whole story. The author has such great imagination, and each story plot is so well constructed, and executed. I cannot wait for the 3rd book in this series ❤️
So much happened in this story. But how can you just have such bad luck with everything. There is a diamond smuggling going on right under here shop. And her luck with men is terrible. He's married. So she just needs to keep on working and looking for the special someone. Good luck.
