A really useful book if you (or someone close to you!) is preparing to take an English Literature Exam. Only a few criticisms....
Firstly, it has questions throughout the book but no answers. I realise you're supposed to get the answers from the text but answers to the 'quick questions' would be very useful for busy parents, and model answers would be useful for students.
Secondly, it's one in a series of CGP Macbeth books, including a workbook and an annotated play. If you buy all these books for each text studied at GCSE, that's a lot of bookshelf space (and money) to find.

This text guide is brilliant to understand the Shakespearean play Macbeth, with handy notes down the side of each scene and act to help you know all the little twists and turns through this young lord's life of cruelty and bravery. With questions at the end of each scene to help you recap, and a funny comic at the end, this edition is great to let you read easily through the play.

I have known a long time about this fantastic play, though this guide helped me to pick out all the tiny details from Shakespeare's language and techniques. It has inspired me to write many stories, and all I have heard from others is 'It's an awful play' and 'It's a brilliant play'. Unsure of what to think, I got my mum to read me and my sister this book, and found that those who said it was great were true.

The play itself is very hard, but this book, to shorten words, guides you through it swiftly. It was great and really easy to understand; I felt quite sudden about the characters, and I have learnt many poems from the play, such as 'Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow' off by heart. Without this guide, I do believe the play would be as reading 'Conort rheetwee sukuy' over and over, though far more good than that! It was really fun and every day I was excited to see what happened in the next act.

I was never really a fan of the Shakespearean books but, becasue we had to read it in school. After we started reading it in school I started liking it more and read it more often. We had to read it for out end of year school exam, and make sure that we have enough notes in order to understand what is happening in the play.

A fantastic student-friendly version of this fantastic play. The whole text is enhanced with translations of key words and phrases, scene summaries and key questions for students, all on brightly coloured and clearly structured A4 pages. Highly recommended for students studying Macbeth.
