A very very dark MUST READ stalker romance

I took so few notes... 😶
...which means one thing: I got so engrossed in the story, I completely forgot! 🫣

Also: there is very little I can share without sharing spoilers 😏 and this story deserves better...
...so, just go read it! ⏩

My favorite quotes:
She's poison spreading through my veins and changing my very makeup, changing me in such a way I hate her for it.

She's clamped her legs shut and taken away the typical open-door policy I usually have when she's drugged.

What I loved:
🔰the introduction with a gem like "Some love stories are bred of darkness, dipped in the very viscous fluid that feeds a dark soul."
☠️the list of content warnings in the author's note, which read like a Christmas list to me!
🔢that the storyline is divided in two parts, with a big revelation at the end of part 1
👨🏻the MMC's name, which is the name of my first ever crush
🤪how utterly obsessed he is, going above and beyond (crazy), even tracking her cycle
🎬I need this to be made into a movie!!! that scene when he came to get her... #instaswoon
the scene with the coffee creamer 🤮
❓his answer to her "What are we?" question #swoonsomemore
🛏️I learned a new thing... stock bed... 😯

What I struggled with:
1️⃣the first chapter gave too much "I know what you did last summer" vibes, which I had difficulty shaking whilst reading the book

What you need to know:
📕standalone
🫂dual POV, 1st person
🖤dark romance
🔪stalker x victim
📚murderer x librarian
🏡forced proximity (kidnapped to his cabin)
❌touch her and die
☠️he calls her "poison" and "deadly girl"
🏍️he is a biker
❤️HEA

For the safety squad:
🌶️spice
🦺content warnings

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I Know Your Secret is a sharp, suspenseful psychological thriller that proves sometimes the scariest monsters aren’t hiding in the shadows, they’re watching from right in front of you.

Greer Allen is the compelling kind you instantly root for. She’s layered, guarded, and carrying something heavy on her shoulders and when her stalker reveals he knows her secret, the tension ratchets up fast. The story thrives on that constant sense of being watched, of never quite knowing who to trust, and of waiting for the other shoe to drop.

The pacing is tight and unsettling in the best way. Every chapter feels like a ticking clock, and the cat-and-mouse dynamic between Greer and her stalker kept me flipping pages like my life depended on it. The author does a great job building dread without giving everything away too soon, letting paranoia and fear creep in slowly; like an old-fashioned thriller that understands suspense is better than shock.

If you enjoy dark, twisty stalker thrillers with secrets, danger, and a heroine fighting for survival, I Know Your Secret is definitely worth the read. It’s tense, eerie, and perfect for a late-night binge when you want something that makes you double-check the locks.

Holy s**t! This book was AMAZING! I have no words! I mean *screams*
Need a minute here! Yeah, needed more than hour for this.
So Koen, oh my soul and life! What an h o t t i e (A bit stalkery but it’s neither here nor there)! So possessive and all in all very loving, takes care what is important for him, and treats it well! All tho in the bedroom he is a whole new thing, i’m just drooling in here.
Greer, well she is a suprise through this book! When you tought you knew her, she suprises you! And she is working in a librery! I wanna work there too!
There were so many moments where I couldn’t sit still! My kindle was in serious danger! It was like watching action movie! Phew! All most broke a sweat myself!
I NEED THIS BOOK FOR MY SHELF! I really wanna read this again and again!
One of those books where you wanna say more and still don’t know the words that would be enough!

I absolutely loved this book, it’s yet another reminder that K. M. Mixon is one of the queens of this genre.

At the beginning, we suffer alongside Greer and worry about her safety, but as the story unfolds, we’re drawn deeper into Koen’s motives, what he does and who he truly turns out to be.

This book delivers tension, suspense, plenty of spice, an unexpected plot twist, and a strong female lead.

You’ll fall for Koen, his obsession, his behavior, and his actions, all shaped by a love for her that borders on madness.

I Know Your Secret was full of so many twists and turns. I loved every minute of it.
Greer was fantastic. She was fierce and showed how strong she could be. Koen was possessive and obsessed. There were so many twists throughout the story. Kept you guessing on who you could trust. KM's writing always keeps me engaged and wanting more.

"I need him more than I need to live."
"I need him more than I need to be free.'
"And that fact might get me killed."

Greer is hiding a secret, one she hoped to stay dead until she receives a text  ... "I know your secret". This is a sharp, unhinged and psychological dark, stalker romance. Murder, OBSESSION, a morally grey MMC who's claimed Greer without her knowledge and will make damn sure she belongs to him. He is watching always, and tracks her every move, and let's be honest we know our girl is getting kidnapped. K.M Nixon's storytelling is phenomenal, the pace is edgy and makes you nervous questioning which characters you can trust. Koen is methodical, patience and f**king psychotic! He's a serial killer hunting down his "murderer" and their chemistry is palpable. You should not fall in love with your captor, yet here I am devouring the plot.

If you're a fan of S.W.A.T and I Know What You Did Last Summer you will lap this book up, on all fours. The character development was done well, Greer is sassy, stubborn, has a smart mouth and takes risk. We see her sacrifices whilst owning her darkness. The spice is off the scale 🥵 it's non-con, dubious consent and will leave your panties wet. Is it wrong to have wanted it more unhinged??

Why I won't give this 5 stars, and it is not reflection on the authors work. I did not care for the H.E.A. I wanted to be drowning in the bloodshed, and maybe serious harm coming to our FMC. The 'damsel in distress' undertone makes me switch off. This was a redemption story for Koen and Greer, personally I am tired of the girl getting engaged and living out a fairytale. No, Ma'am, give me death! pain, heartbreak then set me up for a revenge sequel.
(BTW, I am in a loving, happy relationship so don't confuse these thoughts with me having a black heart -- I want my dark romance, DARKER)

My favourite scene, has to be the creamer 👀 IYKYK -- was it disgusting, yes but I was kicking my legs and giggling like a schoolgirl. Those moments when the author let's the reader in on a secret unknown to the characters is *chef's kiss* I Know Your Secret, will stick with me through the year and more likely but read again soon!! "Soon, I am coming unglued, angling the head of my cock towards the opening of the bottle and spilling my nut inside."

I received an early copy of this book from the author!

“She broke me like the wind ripping through a door on its last hinge. She was all I could think about.”

I am OBSESSED. Completely hooked from the very first page. This story gave me major I Know What You Did Last Summer vibes, but it still felt completely unique in its own way. The tension, the mystery, and the emotional depth had me on edge the entire time—and let’s just say…the spice was absolutely SPICING😅

Greer has been living with a stalker for two years. He knows her every move. Every routine. Every detail. She thinks she knows who it is…but if she’s right, that would mean someone else was there the night of the accident—or worse…🫣

K.M. Mixon, phenomenal work!!

This chick. Our main girl. I love her. I never would’ve thought she was going to be that bada$$ but she was amazing and had me invested and who would’ve thought that would’ve happened? That really was a HEA. Or maybe there’s another book coming. Who knows but I would totally love more!!

It’s insane to look back and think that one fated night led me here, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m the tempting poison in his veins, and he’s the vice I should probably let go of rather than embrace. Together, we’re unstoppable, a story as dark and ancient as time, woven by the twisted hand of destiny, bound by a dark morality lurking within us all. “Where to, my deadly girl?” Koen says, his voice coming through the com in my helmet. “Home.”

Greer made a choice ten years ago. Just when she thought she did not have to watch her back anymore, she learned that she was wrong. Koen has been on the "hunt" for years for the one that captured his attention. Now that Koen has put a face and name to his obsession, he is not about to let Greer go.

"I'm the tempting poison in his veins, and he's the vice I should probably let go of rather than embrace."

Koen is lighter fluid and Greer the flame. Gimmie all the spice and psycho craziness that is Greer and Koen.

Ok, if this is what K.M. is delivering already to kick off 2026, then, I am in for a real treat. Where are my horror fans? This book is for you. If you love, I Know What You Did Last Summer, then, you are going to go "feral" for this book!

This is one of the best books I have read in awhile. For a book that sold its self as a stalker romance I was not expecting an intricate and well developed plot but that is exactly what you get here. A lot of dark romance books hit the tropes to get the taglines but they don’t really matter to the storyline, with this book every trope that was used had a purpose and advanced the storyline in an authentic way. You are getting a darker stalker romance through and through here but it is so well written that it is either actually true love or even I have Stockholm because these two belong together.

This dark romance is pretty dark - please check triggers before reading.

This is the story of Greer, who starts out as a "good kid" who does something she can't undo and must live with her past as she gets older. She is guarded, careful, and feels like she's being watched - and it may be because she is. Her MMC is her stalker - and he's dark and unhinged as they come.

We started with I Know What You Did Last Summer vibes, but by the end I felt a strong Haunting Adeline undercurrent - and I loved it. Plenty of twists and turns, a twisted man who will do anything for the woman he falls in love with, a woman who realizes she is darker than she thought....what's there not to love?

I almost dnf'd the book at the beginning because I was like, how many more twists can there be? I thought we already got everything revealed, but that wasn’t true. There were actually a lot of twists that kept me going.
At some points, I did lose interest, but I still kept reading because I wanted to finish it and see what would happen, at the end there were some really good action but then it all happened fast and it felt so rushed just to finish the book.
It was a good book, not bad, just not for me. I really didn't like the mcs...The fmc wasn’t that naive type of girl, which I liked though and the mmc was like any other mmc in books.

This book kept me on my toes. Greer and Koen are something else. I loved the dynamic between the two. you felt the emotions that Greer has throughout there book. Koen, gripped you by the throat and kept you there. his possessiveness is something else. the war of emotions this man fights towards the end, just to finally give in. by the end of it all, Greer and Koen surprised me at the end of it. 10/10

Amazing!!

One fateful night Greer has an accident that haunts her in more ways than one. Koen is deranged in the best way, obsessed, and has no problem making sure Greer knows she is his in every way! I loved all the twists and turns this book had to offer in terms of Koens history and how his relationship with Greer evolved! Absolutely recommend!!

This book was honestly the most detailed book to the point where you felt the chills of someone being a stalker. This was an enjoyable book because there was so much suspense, spice, tension, and plot twists all wrapped up in this book. It was a good book, but not my favorite.

This was my first read by K.M and I absolutely loved this book. It gave me Scream vibes as far as the plot & I loved it !! The banter was funny between characters, especially the Main Characters . It wasn’t full of spice , but when those parts came up it was SPICY. I would definitely recommend this read. And as always , please please read your triggers & warnings.

When past actions come back to bite, literally! A librarian who, 10yrs prior (with her BFF) was involved in an incident that not a soul but them knew of. Present day, she resides in an isolated house, rarely socialising with anyone other than her bestie & for the past two years, living with the knowledge that she has a stalker. And yes, he knows her secret!

I can’t tell you how much I loved this book!! I was hooked within the first few pages, instantly being drawn in by the suspense & intrigue of the past & its impact on FMC Greer. And equally, the MMC’s POV was incredibly compelling!! Then the plot twist that threw a whole other spin on everything!! I also commend KM for the little injections of humour throughout (creamer 🤣 & that’s all I’ll say on that).

I devoured it!! And I highly recommend this read to any dark romance lover out there. Definitely one for your tbr’s!!!

Pitch black MMC
Librarian FMC

Creamer (just trust me)
