Nia I’ve spent the last two years beside Dante Ross, my best friend and the man my heart begged me to love. But I never told him. Not because I don’t feel it, but because I can’t imagine a man like him wanting someone like me. Being best friends with the son of the Atlanta Ventures’ owner has taught me a lot – like how to handle a man who’s charming, frustrating and utterly irresistible. As I dig deeper into a government corruption case that threatens everything I believe in, I start uncovering more than just ugly truths about power and control. So when he asks me to be his fake girlfriend, I say yes … with rules. And these rules can never break, no matter how much Dante tempts me.
Dante I’ve loved Nia since the very moment we met. Smart, fierce, and beautiful, she’s the one I’ve been waiting for even if I never let her know that. Pretending to date her was supposed to protect my career, and maybe finally make her see what she means to me. We set rules. We tried to keep our hearts in check, but maybe some feelings aren’t meant to be controlled. Every stolen glance and every heated touch makes the line between fake and real blur. I’ll do whatever it takes to help, protect, and stand beside her—even if it means getting tangled in Atlanta’s mess right along with her. Can we convince the world we’re just pretending, or will this mission reveal feelings that are too powerful to ignore?
If you live for the "friends-to-lovers" trope, you need to meet Dante and Nia. Their connection is so deep it’s scary, and watching them navigate their feelings while caught up in a whirlwind of chaos and laughter is everything. Luna delivers the perfect mix of heart and heat in this adventure. Don't sleep on this one—grab your copy today! 📚✨

I was so ready to read Mission Accepted after reading Mission Accomplished! I Was super excited to read Nia & Dante’s story. After all you have some of my favorite tropes Fake Dating, friends to lovers, mutual pining and it was so swoon worthy!
If you loved Adrienne & Evan, then you’re definitely going to fall just as hard for Nia & Dante. I mean the best friends to lovers, the fake dating oofff the tension baby!! We see a bit of are two MC’s in book one so I was ready to get to know them better in Mission Accepted. Though the connection these two have 🥹 The mutual pining and yearning made me want to lock these two in a closet lol.
The way Luna writes about characters who are not spoken about or shown enough in book spaces makes me so happy! I may not be apart of the community but some of my loved ones are so I always try to support where I can!
The way she writes about these two characters made me feel like I really knew them on a deeper level.
I loved Dante especially the fact he’s an interior designer and fights against the mold the world is trying to put him in. I think Dante was written perfectly I also loved that even though he gives us strong confident vibes we are also shown that he has insecurities and struggles he’s caring on his shoulders silently this made him feel like a real relatable person!
And Nia an NAI AGENT I love her, strong, loyal, supportive and still believes in showing kindness to others despite what she’s gone through. I love how it shows her love and support of the community especially as what it gave her while growing up. Seeing it like a full circle moment.
The chemistry between these still feel so natural and genuine. Watching them go from friends to a fake relationship to a real relationship and realizing and navigating their feelings was so heartwarming and satisfying. I also love the suspensful part of the plot it was so well put together and came just at the right time and I loved how it all played out and showed the characters together and individually. I really enjoyed and loved this book and can’t wait to come back for book 3!
If you love Strong female characters, friends to lovers and a whole lot of tension then you will love this book!
Thank you so much to Luna Night the author for this arc!
After enjoying Mission Accomplished, I was really looking forward to Mission Accepted. I absolutely love a fake dating trope but sometimes feel the (best) friends to lovers can be a little forced. I'm so glad that report that it was NOT a problem in this book. There was just a lot of good setup for Nia and Dante's relationship in book one that going into Mission Accepted, I was ready to see how these two would end up together.
It's mentioned in the author's note, but I also just want to take the time to call out how infrequently stories like Dante and Nia's are spoken about broadly in book spaces, and we're all missing out. Though I'm not a part of the community, I thoroughly enjoyed their story and how authentically they both came across on the page. Though Dante is well-off, he was incredibly down to earth having grown up in a family that values philanthropy and supporting marginalized communities. I think he paired so well with Nia and her love for the community center for what it had given her while she was growing up.
From the very beginning, there was a lot of mutual pining, which played perfectly into the build up to the two of them finally getting together. And once they did, phewwwww. Nia and Dante are HOT together like DANG. Does anyone have a fan?
Though I knew there would be some sort of suspenseful portion of this book, I wasn't sure how it would play out and enjoyed when it all came to a head. It happened at the perfect time in the story, and the way it was handled just continued to underline the strength of Dante and Nia's relationship to get through the struggles that they were plagued with both individually and as a couple.
I was lucky enough to receive a copy of this in advance for my review and am looking forward to the third in the series coming later this year!
Mission Accepted by Luna Night is the perfect blend of friendship, tension, vulnerability, and undeniable chemistry.
This story follows NAI agent Nia and her best friend Dante, a talented interior designer who is constantly fighting against the image the world has created for him. Dante wants to be taken seriously for who he truly is—not the version of himself the gossip blogs portray. When circumstances lead him to ask Nia to step into a role that blurs the line between friendship and something more, the two are forced to confront feelings that may have always been there.
What makes this story stand out is how layered the characters are. Dante gives us the confident, protective alpha energy we love, but he also carries insecurities and struggles that make him feel real and relatable. Nia is the perfect counterpart—strong, loyal, and unapologetically supportive, yet still soft where it matters most.
Their chemistry feels natural, their friendship is genuine, and the emotional moments hit in all the right places. Watching them navigate the shift from best friends to something deeper was both satisfying and heartwarming.
Luna Night delivered a story filled with tension, romance, and emotional depth that makes it impossible not to root for these two. If you love friends-to-lovers romance, protective book baes, and strong female leads, this is definitely a book you want on your TBR.
Mission definitely accepted—and I enjoyed every page.
March Read: Mission Accepted by Luna Night ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This highly enjoyable friends-to-lovers romance is the second book in the Mission series. It wasn’t as heavy on suspense as the first book, but the romance carried the story well. I really enjoyed seeing the returning support characters again—the found family dynamic continues to be one of the best parts of this series. Nia and Dante have been friends for years, and their bond feels natural from the start. Dante knows exactly how Nia likes things and handles them without a second thought, which made their connection believable. Nia has loved Dante quietly for years but never felt worthy of him, while Dante has loved her just as long and kept it to himself. Their fake dating arrangement, mixed with Nia investigating a government corruption case, added tension and gave their relationship room to grow. Watching their friendship shift into something deeper was satisfying. The chemistry was strong, and the emotional moments landed well. Overall, this was a solid follow-up that delivered romance, loyalty, and that strong sense of family that kept me invested in this series.
This delicious friends to lovers novel is the second in the Mission series. This one wasn't as heavy into the suspense as the first book. I really enjoyed seeing the same support characters and returning characters to the found family.
Nia and Dante have been friends for it seems like forever. Dante knows how she likes things and does them for her without even a second thought. I think what stood out to me was the passionate kisses, the assurance that Dante gave Nia about her weight (he didn't care). More to hold onto *smirk* & when Nia offered to do Dante's locs. If you know, you know. Doing someone's hair can be very intimate and safe. It's much like allowing someone into your space. You are trusting them to make you not only feel good but look good too.
Thank you to the author for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
I love a good best-friends-to-lovers setup, and adding fake dating to the mix immediately had my attention.
I enjoyed Nia and Dante and watching them try to stick to their “rules” while their feelings kept slipping through. That tension made the story really fun to follow. One of my favorite moments was this line, which I absolutely loved:
“Because you’re the air I breathe. That you’re the morning to my night. That if I had to give my last breath, that it would be for you. That when I wake up, I reach for you, because waking up without you gives me anxiety. You ease my brain when it’s challenging itself. You’re the motivation for my day.”
Between the loyalty, the chemistry, and the chaos surrounding Nia’s investigation, their connection felt natural and engaging. If you enjoy fake dating, slow-burn tension, and friends realizing they were always meant to be more, this one is worth checking out.
Man I really love Dante and Nia! Talk about a power couple. This was such a fun story of fake dating, undercover investigation and a lot of angst. When they finally give in to their feelings, it’s hott! Such a great book!
This book is the best option for you if you are looking for a cute fake dating friends to lovers romance story with a bit of chaos to it. What I love about Luna is that she always hooks you in with a nice couple, who genuinely belong together. And she often throws in a bit of fun with a case, to help balance out the story. Dante and Nia are soulmates and deserve each other, but spend time not feeling like they do. I think this story hit home, because Black romances are often not given time and energy. I felt so connected to this story and loved how Dante and Nia's love felt so real.
