Unfortunately, the reading experience was heavily impacted by numerous editing and continuity errors throughout the book.
I want to start by saying that I genuinely wanted to like this book. The premise and ideas had potential, and I went into it hoping for an engaging read. However, everything felt so jumbled together that nothing ever became truly cohesive, which made it difficult to stay immersed in the stories.
In the first story, the word “basket” is misspelled in the first chapter (not in the title), which immediately raised concerns about proofreading quality. Character names are also inconsistent — for example, Gabriel is spelled Gabriele at one point, and then spelled incorrectly again twice on page 130.
As the stories continue, the inconsistencies become more distracting. A wife’s name suddenly changes from Ruth to Sharon. The baby’s name shifts multiple times — appearing as Daniel, then Michael, and later Jonathan. Another character, Roy, along with a brother whose name is unclear, is said to have two sisters without prior context.
The main character’s name even changes from Robert to Paul, and his marital status is inconsistent — he is described as widowed in one place and divorced in another.
There are also repeated typographical errors, including:
• Page 97: “o.ice” instead of office
• Page 98: “co.ee” instead of coffee (appears twice)
• Page 102: the same “co.ee” error appears again
While the book had promise, the overwhelming number of spelling mistakes, name changes, and continuity problems made it difficult to follow. Because everything felt disorganized and disconnected, the overall reading experience never came together in a cohesive way.
