You want enemies to lovers? Look no further!
Literal sworn enemies until Scarlett had a very specific assignment, with none other than the prince of Hell Orobas.
More religious trauma ensues and Orobas helps Scarlett see what’s really happening in life.
While the series is over, there’s still a cliffhanger to send us into the next series!

Scarlett and Evelyn are female assassins who have only one purpose in life: to kill demons, because they think all demons are bad. at least that’s what their 'command' trains them. but when Scarlett gets a mission to investigate one of the princes of hell–Orobas, she starts to question everything she knows.

"If anyone gets the pleasure of ending your eternal life, demon, it'll be me."
That's the best and only answer I gave him as he releases a low chuckle.
"Marked by Scarlett Ashford herself. What an honor."

"Would you prefer to be introduced as my wife?"
The blood drains from my face, and I shake my head. "Absolutely not. Do you want me to stab you in front of everyone?"
He chuckles, and I have to resist the urge to glare at him as he tilts his head teasingly.
"Now, now, darling. We stab in private, not in front of company."

Told in two POVs between Scarlett and Evelyn, I'm hooked on this book from the very first start!😍 This story was pretty fast paced for most of it, but not confusing, and I loved how the relationship between Scarlett and Oro was evolving slowly, the relationship building between them is intense and is delightful, and I was so happy when they finally kissed, you know what I mean, right??😆

"I hate you." My voice cracks, he yanks my hair back slightly, as if to prove that he could have access to my throat if he wanted to.
He tilts his head, his crimson eyes searching my face for a moment, and the rage I'd felt mixes with frustation.
"Prove it." He whispers, and when the ghost of a smirk graces his face, I yank him close, crashing my lips to his.

I liked many demon characters are introduced in this book, and we get appearances from previous book characters: Maris, Sitri, and Caass!yay!🤩 I wanted to give this book a solid 5 stars, but I am not sure if I liked the ending😢 It was actually a good ending, a happy ending (at least for Oro and Scarlett), but many deads in this book especially the ending that wrecked me😢

it is hard to say goodbye when you're already invested in a great series...😢😢 but this book leaves on a cliffhanger so that it can be spun off into a new series about some familiar characters here, there were lots of characters that I hope we get to know better in the stories to come!✨

If you're looking for a fantasy book with enemies to lovers, slow burn, tension, action, a fierce sassy FMC and a calm stoic MMC, then this book is for you!✨

I loved this book. I feel like each book in this series got better and better until the final culmination in this book. Loose threads from the previous books get tied up or at least explained, and we get a cameo from Maris and Sitri.

The book opens with an introduction to the Revanents, an all-female team of assassins. Scarlett, also known as the Viper, is a poison specialist who seems to enjoy bloodshed. I struggled a bit at first when the POVs bounced between Evelyn and Scarlett, but it made sense from a storytelling perspective. We don't actually get much detail about the MMC, but it didn't bother me because this book isn't really about him. Ouro is my favorite type of MMC: he loves Scarlett's violence and never discourages her from it. This wasn't quite "make each other worse" but it was definitely bloodlust, emphasis on the lust.

Considering this is the end of the series, the end of the book was not what I expected. There is a satisfying ending, but sets up for a new series with familiar characters. I would say there is still a HEA, but the overall conflict is not resolved, so it feels tentative. I'm intrigued to see where the new series will go.
