I am a hockey fan (Go AVS! Joe Sakic and Patrick Roy are mentioned...so thank you very much) I have been to the Hockey Hall of fame so this book was fun for me. I am more interested in my team, but I learned a lot about the history of hockey. It was fun to see the 'best smiles' "best Logos" "best games" Just a whole list of top tens! It is historical but Wayne Gretzky I think is listed on every page for something. I guess if you are the great one...that is how it is! As I was reading it I wasn't thinking "Oh are the at the end yet" each page was an adventure and it was fun! Girls can like hockey too! The only complaint from an AVS fan is they were the Quebec Nordiques and it doesn't reference the change in location or names even though other names and teams were named like the Hartford Whalers are now the Carolina Hurricanes... oh well... I think Don Cherry "THE Grape"'s outfits were the most fun!

I received this book in a Goodreads First Reads giveaway. ANY kid that enjoys hockey will absolutely adore this book!! It's rather large, hardback form lends itself to rough handling. The pictures are very plentiful, of high quality, and will appeal to children very much! I especially liked the section on players with missing front teeth -- what kid wouldn't enjoy those photos? This book would make an excellent gift for any child fascinated with the game of hockey.....not only are the photos quite engaging, but there is enough text to trick the kid into actually reading and not even realizing it. Perfect! : )

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway.

This is a fun book! As a casual hockey fan, I appreciated the list format which makes decades' worth of information accessible and digestible. This should appeal to kids who follow or play hockey (maybe especially the 'best goalie mask' section). Glossy and bright, it presents information in a fun and clear manner. Recommended!

This book was good if you like like hockey. For me, I like hockey, so the players I know are all in there. Who knew Wayne Gretzky has so many records? I do know. If you like smiles and how they look, they have a whole section based on wacky smiles. The best stories with the Stanley Cup are there, too. Top ten Don Cherry suits have a section in here, too. This book was great overall. Every person has facts about them.

Interesting book about everything hockey, although I think that yellow Kings sweater on page 63 should have made the Top 10 Ugly Sweaters page.

I am not a hockey fan, so I cannot attest to the accuracy of the top tens nor can I argue for who might have been omitted. I enjoyed the oversize presentation, the photos and learned a fair amount about the history of the game and its all-stars.
