Betrayal sealed their fate, but the stars were already crossed.
Elody and Christopher have gone far too long at odds, fighting for dominance and hurting themselves and the people around them with their refusal to get on the same page.
Now, the stakes have never been higher. Something is brewing under the strange new creatures, corrupted gifts, sly attacks and feelings neither of them can contain any longer.
With immortality hanging in the balance, Elody and Christopher must finally work together to find refuge from the chaos amassing around them. But after so many lies and betrayals between them, only one choice remains.
To salvage, or to bury. This is Book 3, a sequel, in the Sincere Shadows series. If you haven’t read Sun Blessed or Shadowless yet, head there first.
This series is 18+ and contains mature and dark themes. For further details, a full list of content warnings can be found at the start of each book, as well as on Daisy Florence's website.
Daisy Florence is a writer of dark fantasy and romance. She's a sucker for powerful women, feminine rage, and the dark and mysterious.
After graduating with a degree in Forensic Psychology, she moved home and fell hard and fast back into the bookish world, whilst also dipping her toes into the entertainment industry from time to time. She now lives in the UK just south of London with her mum, sibling, and doggos. Most days you can find her binging books, overstaying her welcome in a too-hot bubble bath, searching for a horror movie to watch, planning her next tattoo, or fast asleep in her comfy bed with about three hundred blankets and pillows surrounding her.

I love this series so much. I love a strong female main character, and Elody is just that. I also love the enemies to lovers to enemies dynamic that Elody and Chris has. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. The story is so well written and I love the magic system in this story. I can’t wait for book 4 and I plan on rereading the entire series in one go once it’s released.

After having read books 1 & 2 I was very excited for book 3, I have loved this book. I did find parts of the book a little slow but overall, I adored the story and I really enjoyed seeing the further progression and growth within the characters, especially Chris, he's really grown on me since the beginning of this series.
Absolutely despised that Cliffhanger but so very excited for book 4 and for everything to be answered for us!
"We were paired by fate, but destined to walk the cruel line between enemies and lovers."

This is book 3 in the debut series Sincere Shadows and like it's predecessors it has delivered a story full of emotion with plot twists even I could not predict!
As always the world building is exquisite, I have said through the entire series that book one set up the world for these stories imaculetly and it has continued throughout. Each time a new area of the world is explored the descriptions are so crisp and vivid it is like I am standing right there.
The character development just wow! Elody (FMC) is an ever brooding revenge seeking heartbroken immortal queen with powers beyond anything anyone has ever seen. Elody goes from seekign and exicuting revenge and bringing down a kingdom (multiple actually) to falling in love with what is believed to be her enemy. Alliances form across kingdoms and as Elody realises that her centuries old grudge may be just the people she is holding it against may not be who should be recieving her wrath. Elody learns to break down her walls and let herself be more and more free and accept love wholeheartedly throughout this book and I cannot wait to see where book 4 takes this magnificent queen.
Christopher (MMC) is not immortal (I think, jury is still deciding) but magical just the same and has been literally to hell and back as his character developed through the story. His kingdom was taken over as a result of revenge, his love interest, maybe soulmate keeps flipping from yes to no about their relationship, and also has been missing for a whole year! Chris also lost his powers, and seems to have been exiled from the kingdom he now calls home. This 'little king' has gone from naive and ignorant and developed into this strong, dependable person who will sacrifice himself to save those who need it. Whether it be Elody, their friends or one of their allianced kingdoms. I cannot wait to see how Chris and Elody's relstionship continues to develop in book 4.
The plot twist and cliff hangers! I swear I am walking right over the edge to see where it takes me and hope I land somewhere soon! I cannot wait for book 4. I need a cataclismic end to this saga!
Thank you Daisy Florence for providing this ARC of Star Crossed in exchange for my review.
This whole series is phenomenal and Star Crossed absolutely did not disappoint. That ending though… I am once again asking for the next book immediately, please and thank you.
We finally start getting answers to so many questions, which was deeply satisfying, but in true Daisy form those answers only lead to even more questions. It is equal parts rewarding and infuriating, and I mean that as the highest compliment.
Elody’s capture was genuinely heartbreaking, frustrating, and agonising to read. Watching her endure everything she went through, then find the strength to escape, cemented her as a truly bad ass FMC. Her resilience, grit, and refusal to break were incredibly powerful.
Chris, meanwhile, took a moment wallowing in self hatred, which honestly felt very on brand, but his determination to pull himself out of it and fight to find Elody showed just how much he has grown. His character development in this book was excellent and emotionally satisfying.
And the spice… the tendrils, the farewell with Morgan… it is hot. So fricking hot. Daisy continues to deliver tension and intimacy that feels earned, intense, and impossible to skim.
As always, this was a book I struggled to put down, and my only complaint is that real life and work had the audacity to interrupt my reading time. A rude and unforgivable inconvenience.
If you are invested in this series, Star Crossed will grip you, hurt you, excite you, and then leave you staring into the distance waiting for the finale.
Well, I need the answers too Elody and Chris! What the heck? 😂
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. It's almost like a 'who done it' in a soap opera. I need to know who those bad guys are.
Chris just just keep growing on me. He's everything you want, he'll die for her and I am all for it. He isnt afraid of showing his emotions either. He's a green flag in my opinion.
Elody. She's been stuck in the past for so long. I'm pleased that she is kind of getting somewhere with that in this book, and living a life in-between saving all the kingdoms and Queendoms.
The plot just kept on plotting in book 3 of Sincere Shadows. As most people will be pleased to know. There is plenty of spice still.
My only negative is that at times, it felt like feelings, statements or lines were repetitive. Like Elody mentions a lot about how much she hates Chris' family. Or how strong she is, because she can do or use x,y or z. I don't feel like it needs to be explained to me over and over. It's shown in what happened in the story already. If someone doesn't interpret that woman as being strong without being told, they're reading it wrong.
I had a hard time putting this down, so 5 stars! Thank you to Daisy Florence to the digital copy in exchange for an honest review. I can not wait for the next one. No rush 👀
There are so many different fantasy and romance elements in this series that kept me locked in.(Ignore how long this read took me, that was work and studying, not lack of interest lol)
Elody is bad b*tch goals, truly. I love her strength. Her willingness to change her mind when presented with facts, despite how much it hurts to know that she believed lies for so long.
Chris is baby boy, and I love him. both baby boy and sometimes daddy, so a perfect combination(my brain still makes him blonde for some reason, which im not mad about).
I want more Morgan though(that scene with all three of them? my poly and pan heart can't cope). I want a beautiful happy ending for her.
Thank you for this beautiful adventure, Daisy. Sorry again for being late. ❤️❤️
