The story sweeps you away to that holy night, letting you walk in Gabriel's shining shoes as he faces his fears and finds his brave voice. Carter Amon's words are like sweet honey, dripping with faith and hope, while Darryl's illustrations are nothing short of breathtaking – they're windows into the very soul of the nativity.

I really love this book. It’s short, sweet, and has a depth you don’t always find in children’s Christmas stories. Gabriel’s nervousness and bravery feel relatable for kids, and the faith message is clear without being preachy. The story opened up an easy conversation about courage and why we celebrate Christmas in the first place. This will be a yearly read for us.
