⭐️2/5 i liked the first book enough to read this one- i went into it thinking it would be similar plot lines and tropes but this was literally like an entirely new everything! while it wasn’t awful, i wasn’t too entertained or invested due to the very fast moving plot. it seemed a little rushed and forced and while on the surface the mmc and fmc had a very deep connection, it didn’t actually end up feeling too deep. there were a few typos and their psychic mind abilities often made things confusing for me. overall, the depth in the writing/plot wasn’t enough for me:(

This has a supernatural element to it that I didn't love even though it made the story easier. It wasn't as sexy or dirty as Heavy Petting. It was fine but felt very different than the first book.

A high commander of the monster army- Hordan, who can reads minds and emotions has been trying to end war on earth to protect humans from the bad guys stumbled upon a fierce independent human - Dodee who is also capable of feeling telepatically whom he claimed immediately as his pet.

For being a monster, Hordan sure was caring, loving and understanding.

But unfortunately this book had some errors and while I usually don't mind that the story is not flowing or sentences are out of place, grammatical errors do irk me.

But if you're reading this book purely for the smut, it's enjoyable.

I loved Heavy Petting and was looking forward to the second book in the series. Sadly I didnt care for this as much, even though it had fun kinky bits. Stretching, lactation inducing berries and man/monster-juice, literal mind fucking. Should be a good time in under 150 pages. Sadly it wasn't. I didnt care for the mind communication thing, and it was a bit of a struggle to finish. Not even the excellently written spicy bits had me too excited. Which made me sad. But thanks to the author anyway for the ARC!

I will read anything Elena Dawne writes! I didn't think I would be into lactation kink or monsters with the first book but I love the sweet escapism of these stories and the continuation of the series here. Loved the fun communication technique in this one, if only things worked like that!

Love Monster was a satisfying return to this edgy monster romance universe, and I was genuinely happy to sink back into it. While this installment didn’t quite hit the same shock-factor highs as the first book, that didn’t diminish my enjoyment. Some of the novelty is inevitably lost when familiar monster elements (and kinks) repeat, but that isn’t a flaw here as those elements are exactly why I picked this up. Aside from Dodee’s feral desire to size-prep herself, there wasn’t much in the way of new kink unlocked this time around, though the spice that is present remains top-notch for any monster lover to enjoy.

Where this book truly shines is in both its romance and its characters. Dodee is wild, free, and fiercely independent, as a woman who has been largely alone for a long time, but not so closed off that she can’t recognize something extraordinary when it’s standing right in front of her. I loved that she was immediately ready to climb her monster despite the very obvious size difference between them. While I might have enjoyed seeing more shared size preparation between the two of them, Dodee is clearly a woman highly motivated to take on her monster with enthusiasm and intent. Gotta respect a fellow monster lover.

Hordan, meanwhile, is a total standout: a sweet giant with immaculate caretaking skills. He understands pampering on a fundamental level and wants nothing more than to give his chosen mate the very best life has to offer. His desire to care for and indulge Dodee is deeply endearing and adds a softness that balances the feral edge of the story beautifully.

The psychic bond between them creates a clever workaround for their language barrier, allowing them to communicate through shared imagery and emotion rather than words. This connection deepens when they discover a shared dreamscape; a space where anything is possible and intimacy takes on creative possibilities. Because both characters can read others on a psychic level, their bond forms quickly and feels authentic; they see one another in their truest psychological forms from the start.

At its heart, Love Monster is about two beings who want the same simple thing: to love and be loved. Our gentle giant longs to care for someone, and our wildling heroine wants to be cherished. Compared to book one, this story leans sweeter than spicier, but it still delivers where it counts. This may be somewhat of a softer sequel, perhaps, but definitely a satisfying one.

I for one, welcome these monsters to become our new overlords as human pet owners. They're responsible, take care of their pets with indulgent hygiene rituals, supply with a steady diet of berries and monster cum plus nonstop banging and milking.

This one is set before the first book, doesn't have to be read in order. The hero rescues the heroine and they mind meld to communicate, overcome the language barrier and also have shared dream sex where ANYTHING can happen and boy did I love it.

I loved the dream sharing but I think the mind communicating aspect didn't work for me but I loved the heroine is fiercely independent and doesn't just roll onto her belly when a big strong monster wants to swoop in to take care of her.

Well I took a little break from my regularly scheduled reading to read this bad boy. Hahahaha. Wow.

It is set in the same world and timeline as Heavy Petting with characters we met in Heavy Petting. It was definitely a smutty fun time. It was a touch different from Heavy petting in several ways that I would not want to spoil for anyone. There were so many lines that my flabbers were so ghasted I needed to take a moment and giggle. There were also quite a few spots where I needed to stop and look at Mr. Maria and say, “OMG READ THIS”. It was so funny and a fun time!

This novella is dual POV, well written, and an erotic, size difference, fated mates, lactation play, fantasy erotic romance between Dodie, the female empathic human lead who has been living alone in the forest for safety, and Hordan, the male empathic monster army commander lead who is thrilled to discover his fated mate/pet. Now he just needs to convince her that she wants him forever. I enjoyed Dodie’s independence and her cheerfully overt sexuality. I enjoyed Hordan’s joy at finding Dodie and his determination to shower her with all the comforts of life. I enjoyed the erotic scenes and the building relationship. I was less fond of the language barrier but I appreciated the author’s workaround for it. I enjoyed the child free happy ending.

This is the first book in this series that I've read but not the first by this author, so I knew to expect the unexpected with lots of heat ;P GEneral Hordan is an alien come to Earth to help protect humans when he comes across human gal, Dodee. He immediately gathers her up to maker her his pet. Dodee's sweet and has some mind powers that let her communicate with him in his mind. Thankfully, he's well skilled with this and thus begins their journey. I was highly entertained by the notion of mind speech and loved their shared dreams, where anything can and does go ;P Expect to be highly entertained with this fated mates romance that has a sweet but very spicy HEA. Good fun!

Hordan and Dodie

I had to dive right into the second book! This series is fantastic! We got a peek at Hordan from the first book, and now we get to see his perspective with his mate, which really ties everything together.

This is still a M/P dynamic, but it’s not as intense as the first book! It introduces a bit more D/S imo. Hordan and Dodie relationship is incredibly genuine and passionate. You can sense their chemistry throughout the pages.

If you’re seeking a low-plot, but high-spice series, I highly recommend this one! The writing is so well-crafted that it doesn’t feel overwhelming. I’m incredibly glad I gave this series a chance!

A sweet supernatural tale

This is book two in the series and a quick read. A general named Horad with supernatural powers is trying to end the war and protect the innocent people. During an outing Horad comes across a sweet human female Dodee with powers too. They cannot communicate with words so they use their powers as a communication tool. It is a sweet story either way a happy ending.

A monster smut story with a lactation kink. A short, quick read about a monster race coming to earth to protect humans from the bad humans and in it, mmc Hordan comes across fmc Dodie and they hit it off immediately and big time. Don’t speak each other languages but can still communicate telepathically (giving sex dreams a new meaning…), done in a lovely enough way that it doesn’t get boring.

Hordan and Dodie didn’t have this as much, but what they did have was a great connection and it did bring a different element to the story, being able to telepathically communicate.
