Coming home was never part of her plan… until the past refused to stay buried.

When acclaimed environmental journalist Celia Harper returns to Bluebell Cove to settle her estranged father’s estate, she intends to stay just long enough to fix up the crumbling family inn and sell it. But the town she fled at eighteen is waiting—with memories she buried, sisters she left behind, and a first love she never truly forgot.

Her sisters aren’t ready to forgive.
Ivy, the dependable one who sacrificed everything.
Juliet, once destined for more, now struggling to rebuild.
Wren, the free spirit hiding a silent battle she refuses to name.
Old wounds reopen, sharp and unfiltered. And this time, running won’t fix them.

Then Celia collides with Graham Ellis—her childhood best friend, now a widowed marine biologist fighting to save the bay from a corrupt developer. Their spark is instant… and terrifying. Because letting Graham in means risking her heart—and facing why she left him in the first place.

But when a hidden attic room reveals her mother’s journals and letters from the father she thought she knew, Celia uncovers a truth that changes everything. As family secrets unravel and the sisters reach a breaking point, Celia must escape again… or stay and fight for the life, love, and family she never believed she deserved.

A tender, emotionally rich story of sisterhood, redemption, and second chances, perfect for fans of Kristin Hannah, Susan Wiggs, and Sherryl Woods.

Celia Harper returns to Bluebell Cove in Maine after the death of her father. Her three younger sisters, Ivy, Julia and Wren meet up with her to hear the reading of their father's will. The sisters haven't been in touch and the reunion is bitter. The will stipulates they must reopen the inn in a year. Celia also meets her best friend growing up, Landon Brooks, now a widowed marine biologist. The plot is very interesting and we see what caused the rupture in the family dynamic and how the family has been hurt. Circumstances in town force Celia and her daughter Sophie to unite and fix up the inn. The threat of environmental disaster in town also force Celia and Sophie to fight the threat. Secrets are uncovered and the story beautifully unfolds to offer hope in the sister's lives. This book is a great beginning to the series.

Good story of family drama and reunion. Opening their eyes to their misconceptions of their childhood can help the Harper girls heal.💕
