Again Pia!
Riddled with errors.
Weird character arcs, strange personality changes between 1 chapter and the next.

Within the first 3 pages the fmc gets her own name wrong..
Im assuming there's more of this series to come? Or do Sofia and Nico not get a story, did you just give up?

Everyone of her fmc's in this series has spent time asking "who are you?" into a mirror!
I couldnt write a novel, Im sure its difficult, but this whole series has felt like lazy, repetitive writing.

"If she is not awake by tomorrow, there will be no tomorrow."

Alessandro Rosetti is the playboy brother who drifts from woman to woman, never settling on one. He has been engaged several times, but none have ever captured his interest. A decree to an arranged marriage is given to Alessandro, and it’s not something he can refuse, especially since it’s given to him by the Don of Chicago, who also happens to be his brother.

Emma Pitt is a servant girl who works for a very prominent family in the area. She keeps her head down, ears open, and remains invisible. That is, until the day of the marriage between Frances Hewson and Alessandro Rosetti. The problem is, Frances is a runaway bride! With no time to fret, Mrs. Hewson takes a hard look at Emma and notices the resemblance is astounding! Mrs. Hewson decides to blackmail Emma into impersonating Frances, so the arrangement goes off without a hitch. The leverage? Emma’s brother, Tommy, who is in prison. Emma is left with no choice but to become Frances Rosetti.

Going into book 4, I knew it was going to be a bit of a struggle, as with all series when they are winding them down. I was pleasantly surprised that it was not a slow-moving storyline. I know some readers may not agree with my review, and that is okay. I had not read a false identity storyline, and I wanted to see how it plays out. I found it interesting that Emma held a resemblance to Frances; it was rather convenient, but I went with it.

Alessandro figured it out. Sofia figured it out. Why didn't the other brothers figure it out, and why didn't Alessandro talk with Sofia? Because we needed a segway into the final book, Sofia. Still, it would have been an interesting viewpoint to see Alessandro and Sofia in on something the others weren't.

I was waiting for more with Alessandro stepping out of the marriage as he stated at the end of book 3, but he never did. Yes, other women who had been with Alessandro came up and tried their best to sway him, but he never wavered. This was the redeeming quality that kept me reading. I really didn't want to hear about the hundreds or see him step out. Rather, he stepped further in and really took the time to see who Emma truly was. Little did they both know how much alike they are.

What got me the most was when Emma was playing her part in the blackmail that the Rosettis were dealing with, and she got delivered photos of what looked like her brother's death. The reaction was expected except for one thing: I didn't factor in that the loss would push her so far over the edge that she would try to take her own life. This scene was a little triggering for me personally, but it was written with respect. When Alessandro gets to her and realizes what she has done, the break he experiences is real pain; real loss. He was willing to follow Emma into death without question. That broke my heart for him!

Despite so many reviews I have read of how upset or discouraged many readers are, I did enjoy this book, and was happy to see more development with not only Alessandro, but also see the wives from previous books incorporated more.

Now it's time for the 5th and final installment of The Rosetti Family: Chicago series.

Happy reading📚

Wow!

This is the best of the books in the series that I have read so far.
Emma is a great character, well developed, and cleverly drawn. She is the light to Alessandro’s dark.
He is initially presented as sunk in corruption - of law, of life, of the soul. What the author does through the course of the book, is draw his character in ever increasing shades of gray whilst doing the reverse with Emma.
It’s a device Pia Sinclair has used before but here it is used more subtly, certainly in the case of Emma.
My only criticism is the description of the numerous sexual encounters which I find too crude for my taste.
However …. this one is highly recommend.

Another good one

Wow, this whole series has me literally wrapped around its finger, I'm glad to see the guy that uses women and tosses them aside finally settled down, and not in the way you originally expect.

I liked the story a lot. Probably my favorite couple so far. However, I am do confused by part of the timelines. When Alex talked about the massacre he said he was 14, and then he says he is currently 27. Then during the epilogue, Sofia says it happened 11 years ago.. The math isn't mathing.

I am glad he didn't act outrageous when he learned the truth - what was she supposed to do?
Side note: I have not liked Sofia since she was first mentioned.
